Re: CS>Non-nutrative sweetner

2008-02-04 Thread Rowena
Apparently even the taste of sweetness is enough to make the body think it is
sugar and react accordingly. If you shouldn't have sugar, don't have the
substitutes. Learn to taste food as it really tastes without sweetening.
Strikes me that sugar does less harm than the chemical substitutes, anyway.
But give it up or absolutely minimise it.
I wonder whether a little date syrup or molasses every now and then would
satisfy the sweet yearning.

Wipe it with a paper kitchen towel, then a damp cloth (I am supposing you mean
an electric one with a stainless bowl?) However, received wisdom is that you
can't really do enough of that to give the same quantity of benefit as the oil.
Still, it is sure to be good for you, and I put some in my coconut treats
(fruits, nuts, spices, seeds, cocoa, VCNO, mixed, marked into squares and
chilled.)
R

Now that you mention it, I have heard of grinding flax oil seeds in a coffee
grinder and I do have one of those small coffee grinders. My question is: How
do you clean the coffee grander afterwards? Doesn't it get all oily?It can't
be submerged in water. Thanks. Faith

One can virtually check it with the naked eye.

I use a simple LED to reject water.

You can measure EC or use a PWT meter, most of which claim to be a ppm
indication.
But a guess at that. No ppm meter exists, period. Even if they are

A new Industry standard may simplify things a bit but will still be a

Lots of things that are fine for humans are toxic to dogs. Bad things for
dogs are chocolate (especially dark), grapes, raisins, onions, Tylenol, and

Marshall,

I don't think there's any "free ride" with sweeteners. Dr. Jerry

You have to watch Stevia brands. They add stuff to it. And it'll say on the
box or whatever; That they do it on recommendation of the FDA of some such
bologna. A lost of times they use the "tols" which have a sky high glycemic
index. The only Stevia I have found that does not add anything to their
Stevia except fiber is Sweetleaf Brand. Every single other company adds
stuff. And I can't figure out why. Stevia is already sweet. Why are they
adding another sugar to it, one that's worse than table sugar for your
glucose levels? It doesn't make any sense, especially if it's only allowed
as a supplement.

have tried Stevia, but can't stand the taste, the aftertaste, and it made me
sick to my stomach.

One thing I have found out, you should only buy pure Birch xylitol. Watch
out for additives in some brands. I bought some at the Vitamin Shoppe that
tasted bad and turned CS yellow in a few days. Pure xylitol does not do
that. I add xylitol to CS for nosedrops and mouthwash.

The purest and best tasting xylitol I have found is:

(It is also one of the most expensive... oh, well.)

Has anyone tried erythritol as a calorie free sweetener? Looks
interesting, expecially since it is not artificial, but a naturally
occurring sweetner.

Marshall

Marshall,
I don't think there's any "free ride" with sweeteners. Dr. Jerry Tennant
says to avoid all sweeteners with "tol" in them, and I tend to agree with
him. They are toxic to the body.

I do use xylitol, however, as a mouthwash.

Marshall,
I have gotten some, but haven't tried it yet. It isn't supposed to
cause the GI effects that Xylitol and other sugar alcohols do as it is
supposed to be mainly excreted through the urine.
Still Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Diet say not to use any sugar alchohols
at all, as they do raise blood sugar.

Red Star is supposed to be good. I got the Now brand and apparently some
of the B vitamins are added. I don't know if that is bad but at least it
has them. I haven't figured out where to get Red Star but there are sites
on google. Nutritional yeast is supposed to add amino acids and B

be added to soup or cooked vegetables, beans, etc to boost protein.

I just wipe it with a damp cloth. I've never had any problems. Just recently
mu daughter gave me a bullet blender and I've been grinding them in that
because I can then add everything else in the same cup and then wash

But, as I say, before that I just used the grinder and gave it a wipe. It

flax seed oil goes rancid very quickly in storage, while flax seed
does not.

Whole flax seed passes through the body with no benefit, so to get the
benefit, the knowlegeable grid a tablespoonful or two of whole seed in
a small electric coffee (Braun) grinder before adding to smoothees
etc.
No rancidity.

2008-02-04 Thread Dan Nave
With all the handling of the wires, etc, you may have slightly
contaminated them or the brewing water. Wash them off with H2O2 and
white paper napkin or towel, and then rinse 3 times with distilled
water. Do same for lid and jar as well. Shake water out in between
rinses. Try not to touch the active materials with your fingers, use
paper towels, etc to hold them while handling.

Try bending your electrodes into a "U" or "J" shape. This should give
them more stability.

Nancy, What is your preferred brand of nutritional yeast and do you use
flakes, or what?

Thanks again, Faith G.

Faith- what I do most commonly is make salad dressing with it, I blend
the oil and drained yogurt, add onion and garlic powder or minced,
Basil, Nutritional yeast, and apple cider vinegar.

Blending with frozen berries makes it more into a milkshake; it's
considered OK to add a small amount of honey for a sweetener, or
Stevia. I think cinnamon really kills the flax oil taste. Some people
think adding some blended whole lemon or some banana kills the taste.

Seeds? How does that work? Can you taste the oil and how do you use them?
thanks very much. Faith G.

yogurt, powdered milk, the oil would be a challenge to cover-up big
time...any chance you could pour it into a 00 size capsule and put the other
end on and just swallow it that way too. I use the seeds...thanks debbie

Re: CS>copper wire hoops to hang silver wire

2008-02-04 Thread Ode Coyote

As silver enters the water, the water becomes better at conducting
electricity and pulls more current from the batteries, which makes more
silver enter the water faster.
The current rise rate is exponential, so, the first few minutes you get
very little increase in current draw, then it quickly goes "through the
roof" and very soon, launched into space.

It's called "runaway"

Get a multi meter, set it on milliamps and watch and a variable
resistor to control...or remove a battery now and then to drop the voltage
that way.

There are ways to do that automatically.

Hi, I've been making/using colloidal silver for some time, with a battery
generator. Just use silver wire
bent at the top to hook over the side of the quart jar. Sometimes they
slip and get too close, so I tried
a plastic lid with holes in it for the wires to fit into. Works better,
but still some slippage. Could redo the holes, smaller size would work
better. But I had some very fine copper wire, and tried making little
hoops on the lid to hook the silver wires into, so they fall straight
down. The copper wire does not touch the water, only the electric clips
and the silver. I assumed the current would simply pass through them to
the silver. But, I'm getting a strong tyndall effect, and slightly
discolored cs, after just 40 minutes (down from my typical hour and twenty
minutes yesterday, which made mud). I'm going back to just the lid with
holes tomorrow, will try some smaller holes. But I'm curious what is
happening, what is making the process speed up? And is that all that is
going on? Thanks for any input. Sara
