Hi Lois. Welcome to the list. Glad to have you here, and glad to hear that you are already educated about the efficacy of Colloidal Silver. One of the things you will learn here is that we generally refer to CS as EIS which stands for *electrically isolated silver* -- this refers to the manner in which it is made, and differentiates it from the generic term *colloidal silver* which is used to describe many silver compounds other than what we represent here. As far as your questions are concerned, three nine-volt batteries are usually used in a manual system like you are describing. You should also know that there are available to you an assortment of automatic generators which have the advantage of turning themselves off when your EIS has reached the desired ppm-level. This gives you the freedom to make EIS while you're at work, or while you're sleeping. One of our list members, Ode Coyote, makes a unit he calls a Silver Puppy which many people here use. You can also go to www.wishgranted.com and purchase a Colloid Master. There are others, as well. Most units come with silver bars, and are ready to plug in and go. I have no idea what a zipper wire is -- sorry. We don't have an ounce of problems with questions -- so ask away. I do have one request of you -- would you mind very much eliminating the *U, 2 and R*'s from your messages, and replace them with *you*, *two* and *are*? I'm having a hard time reading your post. I think that those of us who are not teenagers are unused to these trendy abbreviations. Thanks for giving that your consideration! :-) MA

The rest of your questions are probably better answered by someone with
experience using the LVDC method... I plan to give that a try sometime, but
as of yet I've only used the HVAC method. You can find instructions for
making simple versions of both kinds of generator here:

I've had excellent results following the instructions on that page for the

Hi, Lois,
here are some thoughts on your questions:
1. I called around to the local jeweler's supply store, the place where
jewelers buy supplies, and got some .999 silver wire from him. There
are online sources as well. I prefer to get a larger diameter wire (10
gauge), as it seems to go faster that way. But any type of pure silver
wire will do. Fine Silver is 99.92% pure silver, and there is one grade
above that, 99.99 % pure. I use the .9992 and it works just fine,
though some prefer to use the 4 nines silver as it can be called.

2. I use 3 nine volt batteries hooked together. Sometimes I will add a
fourth one in if I feel like it, but 3 works well for me.

3. I am not sure what they are referring to when they say zipper
wire, but I will guess that they may mean wire with alligator clips on
it to connect the parts together. Yes, speaker wire would work for
that, probably most any copper wire would be ok, IF it is being used
just to connect the parts together. I just got a little bag of colored
wires with alligator clips on the ends from Radio Shack.

Good to hear about people's successes with silver, thanks for posting
them. Kathryn

The jeweler should be able to sell you some fine silver wires. Fine
silver is generally 99.9% fine, which is fine (pun intended) for
making CS. Ask for 12 gage wire. It will be more expensive from a
jeweler. Try somewhere like www.ccsilver.com

To use coins, have the flat sides face each other in the brewing jar,
just make sure that if you use another metal to connect to the coins
(other than silver) that this base metal does not touch the water in
the brew jar.

2. I have been reading several books in a couple it calls 4 3 nine

You can make colloidal silver with a wide range of voltages. Four 9
volt batteries is 36 volts. You can make it with one 9 volt battery,
it will just take longer to make. Higher voltages like 36 volts makes
the process start faster, but once it starts, unless you have a
current limiter in the circuit, or use a resistor to limit current, it
is easy to have the process run away or proceed too quickly, once it
starts putting silver into the water.

 3. The book also calls 4 zipper wire I don't know what in the dickens

I think zipper wire is like the generic speaker wire which has 2
insulated conductors side by side. If you cut them apart at one end
and then pull them apart, they will pull apart as if you were
unzipping them. (The thin insulation connecting the 2 wires together
will separate.)

Re: CS4 electrode CS for indi.

2008-12-06 Thread Indi
Thanks you Neville, that is fascinating.
My current method (HVAC cone) uses four feet of silver wire coiled in the
bottom of the brew chamber (which is already a lot of surface area), but now
you've got me thinking about adding a third electrode at the surface of the
solution. I'm thinking that might give me a similar improvement in brewing time.

Cheers,
indi

1100ml and 1 1/2 hour production time.
Pure water only, (no seed), approximately 20ppm before stabilisation,
(result dependant on temperature of course).
Distilled water 1 litre, (no seed), 1 hour production time approximately
16ppm, (again dependant on temperature).
Solution totally clear.
During stabilisation time frame solution darkens to very deep golden
colour, (as expected and anticipated).

I have deduced from this that I now have the best of both worlds. While
using a normal generator for the production of my daily intake of CS which
I can store I can now produce CS in a quicker time frame and of relatively
high ppm, in fact I could go as high as the production process would
allow, for immediate use if and when required, but if ingested it *must*
used while still clear, [my determination].
I now know I can generate a relatively high ppm CS solution in even
quicker time frame if only using a 250ml glass which is what I would do
when necessary to ensure it is used within 12 hours, providing it remains
clear for that time frame, (which I doubt), but there is no problem in
producing more if necessary.
My reasoning is that if taken within 12 hours, (incorporating the above
proviso), it has not had enough time for ions to agglomerate to form the
larger particles, (evidenced by colour), making it ideal for immediate
medicinal purposes.[my determination]
If left to darken, (which would be preferable), it would be ideal for
topical use, and if I decide to ingest it for any reason I would still do
so but in smaller quantities and only for a short time, again only for an
immediate treatment.[my determination]
Well, there you go indi, that's my little experiment done accompanied by
explanations, including the provisos', of the uses I would put the
resultant solution to, covered.
P.S. Colour requires more research as I need to know more about the shape
of the particles and the influence any given shape would have on any given
colour, if that's plausible. I have some information here but want
to find a bit more before I am satisfied.

CSCS: Silver coins

2008-12-06 Thread Harold MacDonald
I have used Canadian maple leaf silver coins since day one.I got a pair of
alligator clip wires ,red and black from Radio Shack for about $1.49 and I
suspend the coins from a home-made gantry and let them dangle in the
water.[not letting the clips get in the water] .
I have tried different voltages AC and DC,but finally settled on a
transformer @ 34 Volt rectified to DC.

I use two coins so I don't have to worry about polarity.
