Approximately 20 per cent of all cancers worldwide are caused by infections. Some
scientists say it could be as high as 50-95 per cent . Across the planet, startling new
evidence is emerging that links viruses and bacteria to an increasing number of cancers.
And two Nobel prizes in the last five years mean the story of infections causing cancer
cannot be ignored.

VDR Receptor Competence Induces Recovery from Autoimmune Disease
(VDR - Vitamin D Receptor)

Here are some on-the-spot notes I made on the Cancer video; they might be of
interest or use in deciding whether you want to watch it.
(Look out for the question of why a patient having a hip operation had germs in
that capsule that previously had only been identified at under-ocean vents).

Everybody knows Inflammation Induces Cancer - how? and can this
pragma help us find drug targets.

Co-morbidities. Depression a key problem in China, anxiety, allergies,
thyroiditis, IBD, - chart took studies out of PubMed and showed
co-morbidities - inflammation not unique - not jut one problem. Chart
of Co-morbidities. (ie you don't just get inflammation for one reason, you
likely have a whole host of other germs causing your problem - RE)

Why?

Human Microbiome project NIH - is body really sterile compartment as
previously assumed.

Expect there will be about a million bacterial genes found active in
the human body compared with 250,000 human.

Yersinia, klebsiella, over 100 species identified from saliva of
healthy human subjects.

Hip joint composition - different mix of bacteria - Lysobacter
predominant, Hydrothermal vent eubacterium - previously identified
under ocean - found during arthroplasty. How would this turn up as
contamination in surgery?

JRA Lymphocyte - able to image cells exploding in patients who were
seriously ill after blood allowed to age six hours.

Long extruded polymers visualised.

VDR Nuclear Receptor. What could be allowing persistent pathogens in
what was thought to be sterile compartment. In humans only, the VDR
transcribes genes for TR2 and others.

Knocking out the VDR causes human chronic disease.

Mycobacterium tuberculosis - VDR downregulated x 3.3 times.

Borrelia burgdorfii using bead assay found 50 fold downregulation and 8 fold.
.

EBV - omnipresent pathogen? VDR downregulated particularly in
lymphoblastoid cell lines. After a while downregulated by 15 times.
Strong effect on VDR.

Believed to transcribe or express VDR

HIV totally takes the VDR, binds and steals so it can transcribe its
own genome.

Part of the survival mechanism of HIV.

Transcribes for about 17 proteins. Yet they are documented to have over
3000 interactions with human metabolome.

Why?

Human CBLP/P300 with disordered loops - depending on what the loops
bind to it will determine where they work along the DNA strand. They
can really go into many confirmations.

Depending what they bind to.

Salivary metagenome: 50,000 proteins rather than 17 of HIV.

Potential imponderable complexity of interactions with human metabolome.

Genomes accumulate gradually during life, shutting down immune system.
Catastrophic failure metabolism in chronic inflammatory disease due to
common underlying mechanism due to ubiquitous microbiota ...

Get a VDR agonist? - Omesartan quite adequate.

When you do that, can reverse autoimmune disease. Recovery as chronic
and slow as the disease process, 3-6 years. Study for 7 years in
variety autoimmune diagnoses, between 18 and 53 months, 81% experienced
reduced disease and symptoms.

Many had total disease reversal.

Carcinomas - 750 subjects 3-7 years, all disabling disease, only two
carcinomas and neither were metastatic.

Breast and bladder carcinoma subjects studied. 30 months just getting
to stage where it's interesting.

Why did study cohort not succumb to cancer?.

More direct relationship. Chronic Inflammation is the result of a
diverse intraphagocytic metagenomic microbiota. When this metagenome
reduces expression of the host VDR in order to protect the microbiota
against the endogenous antimicrobials, it also knocks out
transcription of a key gene - MTSSI - the Metastasis Suppressor

I use seeds from the Umbelliferae family in beans and they do make them more
digestible and less or zero gas. I have used anise, coriander, celery, cumin,
fennel, dill seeds in beans. First I grind them in an electric coffee mill. My
favorite beans are chickpea, pinto and black beans. Chickpeas are the ultimate
with a very good protein profile. I never make humus which is a disgusting
greasy mess

The Apiaceae or Umbelliferae (both names are allowed by the ICBN) is a family
of usually aromatic plants with hollow stems, commonly known as umbellifers. It
includes angelica, anise, arracacha, asafoetida, caraway, carrot, celery,
centella asiatica, chervil, cicely,coriander/cilantro, cumin, dill, fennel,
hemlock, lovage, Queen Anne's Lace, parsley, parsnip, sea holly, the now
extinct silphium, and other relatives. It is a large family with about 300
genera and more than 3,000 species. The earlier name Umbelliferae derives from
theinflorescence being generally in the form of a compound umbel, and has the
same root as the word umbrella. The botanical subspeciality that studies
Apiaceae is sometimes called sciadophytography.

CS[List Owner] Topics...

2010-07-24 Thread M. G. Devour
Hi folks,

Just a reminder that, though I don't mind some off-topic stuff, that
I'd like OT threads to be deliberately tapered off in a day or so, so
they don't drag on and dominate the discussion.

A good current example of this, might have something to do with curry,
and beans, and pressure cookers... evil grin

As always, health-related questions are welcome, so long as the answers
that are related to things besides CS are handled more briefly, again,
tapering off when basic curiosity is satisfied and other resources have
been identified for further study.

*Wildly* OT stuff, should always go to the Off Topic List, of course.
grin

Carry on, and thank you all, so much, for taking responsibility for
policing your *own* behavior. That's why my job is as simple as it is,
most of the time.

Peace,

CSZeolite - Does it Really Work?

2010-07-24 Thread Peter Converse
Hi Folks,

As Steve mentioned regarding zeolite, it's just about impossible to find some
unbiased information while researching, due to the MLM factor.

It's kind of funny that he mentioned this because I have been recently looking
into zeolite once again, trying to dig up some truth. Man...is it ever hard
to tell fact from fiction when it comes to this topic!!

Back in 2007 I did try the MLM liquid zeolite for a few months and I did
actually seem to notice some great improvements in the way I had been feeling,
relative to heavy metal toxicity and overall immune health. The cost of the
product kept me from going on with it any longer though.

I am presently considering trying either the liquid zeolite (NCD) once again,
trying Garry Gordon's nano zeolite product or giving the Zeolite Pure product a
shot. Can anyone make any suggestions about any of these based on personal
experiences or experiences of family members or close friends?

Does anyone have any well grounded scientific facts about the effectiveness of
any of these products to permanently bind toxins?

The company selling the MLM brand has had so much controversy in its history I
really don't know what I can believe from these people. I see their product
testimonials and I have to wonder how much truth could be in any of them.
Comments?

What about alternatives to zeolite to serve the same purpose of binding and
escorting heavy metals and other toxins from the body? Ideas?

Many thanks,

Peter

Zeolite is silica and so is DE, so for the money I would go with food
grade DE. Actually I could choose clay, like Eaton's Three Clay blend
over the DE. www.eytonsearth.com has

a link to his commercial clay site.

They all come out of the ground. And you need to know who you are buying
from since any of them can be contaminated. DE has significant Aluminum
Oxide and while it is not suppose to be bioavailable it makes me
uncomfortable knowing it is on the analysis sheet.
DE is also very powdery and fine, so is clay but it is not so fluffy so
might be easier to work with. There is a lot of data on the absorptive
and adsorptive properties of clay.

I would not buy Zeolite from an MLM, period. I used to buy 50lb bags for
$25 and then it started being marketed in one pound net bags for $12.00
at dog shows as a deodarizer.
I had been putting pounds of it in shallow boxes under the beds and
couch to absorb
odors for years. But I would not have at $12.00 a pound. This was 20
years ago.

From what I have read one needs to be careful with clays re aluminum also.
There is an interesting article at
http://imaninatural.com/pdf/Pelotherapy101.pdf

They also sell 4 different kinds of clay so you might want to take a look.
