No list cops was: Re: CSThe chemistry of Maple syrup and sodium bicarbonate
Alan, you are not the list owner here. This list is a place where many folks are friends. Lengthy personal correspondence usually doesn't happen here, but unless Mike steps in and calls a halt to any particular exchange, it is up to us each as individuals to decide what to share here. In that light, you have every right to name your preference that personal comments not fill this list. But your statement below is an instruction, not a stated preference. Mike has an amazing tolerance for a lot on this list, including quite a quilt of windows into many different approaches to health - something else some people would like/prefer not to have happening here. And personal greetings and requests are at times part of the community's fabric. He has also provided us with the off topic list for broader excursions into info not specifically regarding cs. But he sets the tone here, and its well established. The one thing he has never well tolerated is anyone playing list cop. I'm not trying to be a cop here either, just to inform you that that has been the history here, and that it is much appreciated by many of us here. And it is my personal preference that the list continue to be managed in that way.Sara Please take these personal comments off list, thanks -- The Silver List is a moderated forum for discussing Colloidal Silver. RE: CSFibromyalgia (FM)
Having managed the pain of CTFM/MPS for almost 30 years I can tell you that if you don't address the spinal cord inflammation that comes from the cervical trauma you will *never* bring the pain level down to a 4 out of 10. If you do not do this eventually there will be changes in the brain that actually will increase the pain and that will start manifesting as other symptoms. Believe me when I say the bulk of my consumable income went on nutrition... both eating patterns and supplements. In addition I am a licensed Acupuncturist and have been trained in a number of emotional processing paradigms such as TAT, PEAT, PSYCH-K, etc. as well as being a Reiki Master. I am also trained in Thermal, GSR and EEG Biofeedback. They all helped for awhile but nothing helped as much as treating the inflammation in the spinal cord. After I was treated for the inflammation in my spinal cord I felt like a human being again. Then I could start addressing some of the other specific issues. If there is no cervical trauma I have read that FM is curable. If there is cervical trauma it is 'managed'. If there is ligament laxity there are other issues that present and must be addressed. I will be happy to email with anyone that has this condition. Meant to say Tel I had another success with your black salve even in its non-sticky state! I put some on my friends dog which had this recurring place on her head which just wouldn¹t heal. She had already had it removed surgically once but it came back. I sprayed it with CS and H202 and then rubbed some black salve in. Low and behold, it scabbed and has now completely disappeared! Dan, I use Great Lakes, both the collagen hydrolysate and the porcine non-hydrolyzed gelatin. I don't get the bulk packaging, because I don't like dealing with 10 lb bags of stuff. Both are fine so far as I know, I use as a source of protein. I couldn't find the original email and too lazy to go to archives, so I hope this is what you are talking about: the hydrolyzed collagen does NOT GEL. The gelatin does. Collagen dissolves in cold or hot liquids. Gelatin needs to be softened in a cold liquid before heating to dissolve it. sol -- The Silver List is a moderated forum for discussing Colloidal Silver. Re: CSFibromyalgia (FM)
I was taking 1200 mg in the am and 1200 mg in the pm of the extended release guaif. I still take 1200 mg per day but don't seem to need the 2400 mg per day as in the past. I have no clue what the dosage recommendation is for guiaf with FM. I don't seem to have the 'dry out' problem (knock on wood) but I do drink at least 1/2 gl of water x day and am not a heavy salt eater. I am so sorry you regret having done it. Do you still have problems from taking the guaif in past? Basically, it dries one out. As we age we dry out anyway and the guaif just made it worse. It is one of the few things I regret having done. I figured you would know more about guaif's effect on FM better than I. But I have used it for years years for sinus drainage and have never noticed any side effects as long as I get the pure guaif with no additives etc. I have to get and rx and order from a compounding pharmacy in Nebraska since 'they' made it otc.Lola On Wed, Jun 20, 2012 at 8:51 PM, PTFerrance ptf2...@bellsouth.net wrote: I tried that therapy some years ago and I cannot recommend it. It seems most discussions of FM are for ways to reduce the effects (e.g. mask the pain, various stretching exercises, diet restrictions), but very little is said about actually curing it or preventing it in the first place. CS/EIS doesn't seem to help (included to keep on topic!). I reduced my joint pain (mostly knees and sometimes hips) to a very low level (often no pain at all) by cutting polyunsaturated fats out of my diet. (confess sometimes I cheat and suffer for it). This includes all vegetable oils except for expeller pressed coconut oil and butter and the fat in half and half, etc. No chicken fat, no lard, no more cooking with bacon fat, LOL. No flaxseed oil or evening primrose oil, borage oil, grapeseed oil or the like, either, almost no nuts. No fish oils. Fish oils are the most unstable of all the PUFA oils. This is obviously not the conventional wisdom re so-called essential fatty acids but it worked for me. Probably all the gelatin I now eat helped a lot as well, since I did both things relatively close together time-wise it is hard to separate which one was the most beneficial. But I do notice when I cheat and consume poly-unsaturated fats, the joint pain comes back. sol -- The Silver List is a moderated forum for discussing Colloidal Silver. My goal was to have less pain, not more, and at my age I was not at all happy with the idea of being in MORE pain for months or even years before seeing any improvement. I had painful trigger points for many years, but they are virtually gone now. sol -- The Silver List is a moderated forum for discussing Colloidal Silver. RE: CSFibromyalgia (FM)
Did you read St Armand's work? The point of taking the guaif was to mobilize the toxins in the muscles. Initially it would cause more pain but over time, as the toxins were washed out the pain was supposed to diminish. Doesn't sound like you got past the initial stage. RE: CSFibromyalgia (FM)
Actually it was to mobilize the toxins in the fascia not the muscles. I mis-wrote.
