CSNew to List in Pittsburgh, PA

2012-08-10 Thread Laurie Weber
Hi All,

I have bough colloidal silver on occasion   I am interested in learning about
all the benefits of using it.  I hope to one day make my own but for now, can
anyone recommend a good sourse to purchase it?  I do use it internal and
external.  Actually, my dog uses it more than I do.  I would love to hear about
results of using it on pets.  My dog is elderly (13) and has had arthritis
since he was 2.  He's a big guy at 85 lbs.  He may be having some neurologic
issues now and has lost muscle mass and gotten weaker in the back end.  I use a
boatload of supplements on him and he is treated holistically except for a
couple of minor pain relievers that I may need to bump up to something
stronger/anti-inflammatory.  For me, I'm pretty healthy except for gaining 30
lbs when I quit smoking last fall.  I can't seem to shake the weight.  I'm 46.
I had chicken pox as a baby and keep thinking I need to do some research and
prepare myself in case I get
shingles.  I use a lot of therapeutic grade essential oils too.  I love them.
I also use DE and calcium bentonite clay, some homeopathics.  Any help you can
provide this newbie would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Laurie.

Welcome to the group. Here is the information you requested. I'm including

2012-08-10 Thread Nenah Sylver
You ask about CS for animals. When I replaced my dogs' drinking water for
CS, they drank two to three times as much. They knew what they needed. I
don't give the dogs CS all the time, only when they need it. However, since
silver appears to be an essential nutrient, it's reasonable to assume that
one should drink it on occasion even if one isn't ill. I knew a health
professional who used it for regular drinking, cooking, everything-and he
said his children were the healthiest of any kids he'd ever seen.

You mention fearing you'll get shingles (from the Herpes virus) as an adult
because you had chicken pox when you were a child. Adults who had chicken
pox as children typically don't get shingles. It's adults who did NOT have
chicken pox earlier in their lives who generally get shingles.

For weight reduction, there's a good article on Mercola's website today
about this:

http://fitness.mercola.com/sites/fitness/archive/2012/08/10/fat-not-glucose.
aspx?e_cid=20120810_DNL_artNew_1

Aside from diet, IF part of your weight problem is due to adenovirus, the CS
should help with that IF it can reach the viruses. Former smokers often have
problems with weight gain. You may need to reset the hypothalamus. Look up
Simeons HCG.

I encourage you to purchase a CS generator, especially as it seems you'll be
using a lot of silver. The generator will pay for itself in no time. You may
also want to get a distilled water maker. I got mine from Sears for about
$130 including tax.

Be well,

Nenah

Laurie,
I am  currently battling a rather severe case of shingles,  go thru our
archives during the last two weeks and you will find the conversations
concerning such.

I might add that there is something called a shingles vaccine-  its expensive,
most insurances won't cover it,  but had I learned about it  in time  I would
have given it a try.

My grandmother  had shingles when I was younger,   she and I both had
chickenpox as children.  In fact everyone I know of who has or had the shingles
ALSO  had chickenpox  as children.  The same virus also causes cold sores.

I was taking L-argenine  prior to my outbreak  and now suspect that may be what
triggered it.  Melly mentioned that argenine in our foods can trigger herpes.

CS is so vitally  important for just about anything concerning our health,  I
strongly recommend you get one of the generators.  I personally  have the
Silver Puppy  and just love it.   I chose it mostly because it was less
expensive.  After several years of use  I have never been sorry.   Some day
when Im rich and famous I would like to have the one that makes a gallon at a
time.  For now I am happy with my quart.  Once upon a time  I bought one bottle
of CS and it cost 20$ for a 2 oz bottle,  thats when I started researching
generators.

best of luck to you and heres hoping you NEVER  get the shingles.

Laurie,
I have one dog that is incontinent and I have been able to reign it in
with Proin, colloidal silver, and two really good supplements. We feed
raw, and this dog does not drink from the water bowl. So I use the
colloidal silver my husband makes for the liquid in her two daily meals,
raw meat and bones in the evening, raw milk kefir and a raw egg in the
morning.

If I stop the supplements, the incontinence gets active. If I stop the CS,
the incontinence gets active. And if I stop the Proin, the incontinence
gets active. So she gets all three in both meals, and she very seldom has
an accident (her accidents happen without her knowledge, like sometimes
when she is sitting). She is only nine years old, and otherwise, incredibly
healthy.

This is quite illuminating-I had no idea that adults with a history of
childhood chicken pox could contract shingles as adults! However, I do think
that having had the illness as a child can help the immune system to more
effectively deal with shingles later in life. Think of all the adults who
DID have chicken pox as children and who DON'T get shingles later.

One of the best anti-viral (and anti-fungal) herbs I know of is chaparral,
also known as creosote bush (Latin: Larrea tridentata). The plant grows in
the American Southwest and is free from insects and rot due to some very
powerful phytochemicals it produces.

Over a decade ago, a research scientist isolated and removed the compounds
in the plant that the FDA claimed were liver toxic. Unlike what often
happens when some ingredients are removed from a plant's phytochemical
matrix, the resulting product was still highly effective. There's a company
called Shegoi that sells this product; you can find it on the web. You can
also purchase Larrea from www.mountainroseherbs.com
http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/

Chaparral grows freely where I live. I gather the leaves, make a tincture
with DMSO (straining the leaves), and for rashes etc. simply apply the
tincture. It works well. You can add CS to this mix. The DMSO will bring the
solution right into the body.

2012-08-10 Thread Joyce Miller
Nenah,

Even though many who have had chicken pox do not get shingles, that is not
because of having had chicken pox. I think of Shingles as adult chicken
pox, but those who get it, would not get it if they had not had chicken
pox. It is the same virus. Absolutely the same, and it lives on in our
bodies . . . the following excerpts from two articles explain much:

Shingles is caused by reactivation of a previous infection with the
varicella-zoster virus (VZV) that initially causes chickenpox; VZV lies
dormant in the nerves and reactivates when immune defenses are weakened.
Disseminated herpes zoster resembles chicken pox, with a rash, fever and
possibly pneumonia; herpes zoster may also lead to ocular and neurological
complications.

*Varicella zoster virus* (*VZV*) is one of eight herpes
viruseshttp://www.babylon.com/definition/Herpesviridae/English?uil=Englishuris=%21%21ARV6FUJ2JPtid=Definition
known
to infect humans (and other vertebrates). It commonly causes
chicken-poxhttp://www.babylon.com/definition/chicken-pox/English?uil=Englishuris=%21%21ARV6FUJ2JPtid=Definition
in
children and adults and Herpes zoster
(shingles)http://www.babylon.com/definition/Herpes%20zoster/English?uil=Englishuris=%21%21ARV6FUJ2JPtid=Definition
in
adults ...

Anyone who has had chickenpox may get shingles later in life. But there's
a vaccine that may help prevent shingles or make it less painful if you do
get it. The shingles
vaccinehttp://img.webmd.com/dtmcms/live/webmd/consumer_assets/site_images/media/pdf/hw/form_vis23.pdfis
known as
Zostavax http://www.webmd.com/drugs/drug-144377-zostavax+subq.aspx.
Adults ages 50 and older can get one dose, whether or not they've had
shingleshttp://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/shingles/default.htmbefore.
. . . If you have never had chickenpox, you may avoid getting the
virus that causes both chickenpox and later shingles by receiving the varicella
vaccine http://www.webmd.com/hw-popup/chickenpox-varicella-vaccine. . . .
If you have never had chickenpox and have never gotten the chickenpox
vaccine, avoid contact with people who have shingles or chickenpox. Fluid
from shingles
blistershttp://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/understanding-blisters-basicsis
contagious and can cause chickenpox (but not shingles) in people who
have never had chickenpox and who have never gotten the chickenpox vaccine.

You may be able to zap shingles with vitamin B12 and you can take lysine to
shorten the duration of the attack but if you have had chicken pox, that
will NOT prevent you from getting shingles but it may cause you to get
shingles.

http://www.healthiertalk.com/prevent-shingles-vitamins-not-vaccine-3836

Shingles can occur in anyone who's had the chicken pox. They are both
caused by the same virus, the varicella-zoster virus. Here's how it
happens...

When you get chickenpox, the itchy spots go away, but the virus never
leaves your body. It lies dormant in your nerve roots. Then, years later,
the virus suddenly wakes up and you get the painful shingles rash.

Shingles can hit at any age. But you're more likely to get the rash if:

   - You're over 60
   - You had chickenpox before age one
   - Your immune system is weakened by medications or disease
   - You are under extreme stress

Usually, you first notice a burning pain around your mid-section. . . .
Next, the tell-tale rash appears at the site of the pain. Then, the rash
blisters and crusts form. The crusts usually fall off in two to three
weeks.

Most conventional docs try to treat shingles with anti-viral medications.
But these may only shorten the virus by a day or two. Plus, you still have
the pain to deal with. For that, you'll need some heavy-duty pain killers.
Anti-inflammatory meds won't cut it.

And neither will the vaccine.

The good news is there's something else works even better. It significantly
shortens the duration of the attack. Plus, it's all natural.

*Vitamin therapy zaps shingles*

Vitamin B12 is hands down the best way to get over shingles. I've seen
nothing else work as well or as fast. It goes directly to the nerve root to
attack the zoster virus. Ask your doctor for an intra-muscular shot that
contains 1 mg of B-12. Get one shot each day for a week or until the
symptoms completely disappear.
But you can also take B12 to prevent to prevent shingles. Go for 500 mcg of
sublingual B12 (under the tongue) each day. This will keep your nerve cells
healthy and help prevent the zoster virus from ever waking up.

*One more safe option to try*

You can also try lysine to shorten the duration of a shingles attack. Go
for 3 grams (3,000 mg) of lysine daily until your symptoms disappear. It
can also help lessen the pain and itching. You can find lysine at most
grocery stores and vitamin shops.

Just don't take lysine on a routine basis…It disrupts your body's
lysine-arginine ratio. You see, lysine competes with arginine in the body.
The more lysine you take, the less arginine available to your body. And
