Mike, The problem may be the people that aren't smart enough to figure out how to unsubscribe from the list and then complaining that they are receiving spam from the silver-list. Perhaps you could make it so that if they post to the list with "unsubscribe" in the subject list they will be unsubscribed, since that is the mistake they often appear to make. Or something along those lines. Dan M. G. Devour wrote: Dan writes: Well, after cajoling, threatening, and badgering Comcast, I appear to be receiving the silver-list, at least for the time-being... Take a bow, Dan. Thanks for your effort. Thanks to everyone else who also complained. CS>Comcast, Best Solution
Morning Debbie and the List, Mike I fired off a letter to comcast and have gotten the emails about four of them so far talking about that subject I hope this gets fixed ASAPdebbie Why fret, why worry? Take the best solution. Get another ISP ASAP. One can use a different mail server than the ISP, in most cases. Some ISP's intentionally block sending mail to another mail server. Few block picking up mail from another mail server. You can pick up mail from one mail server and send mail via another mail server, but that can create problems with some lists. I typically use 2 or 3 mail servers ( POP3 and SMTP ) simultaneously. On many list, like the silver list, I get two messages via different mail servers. So one can blow a fuse and I never miss a message. Most people never master these mail servers. One good thing about Eudora is that when a mail server produces an error, Eudora will display the exact error number. I have called the ISP and give them this error number and they can figure out what is wrong. The key is knowing when to suspect your own settings or know for a fact that the mail server has a problem. I like to call them, give them the details, and state this is why I know you have a problem. One can often use the search engines to find out more about email problems by using complex search strings with several terms such as the mail program name plus the feature or setting, and a few other words. As in Guerrilla warfare, The BRAIN is the best weapon. Why put up with a biased and unfair ISP or Mail Server problem? Or one that is Anti-freedom or Anti-gun? Re: CS>Comcast blocking mail from Eskimo
Hi Mike, stars...@comcast.net THAT explains why I'm getting no cs posts! I got this one, oddly enough. I've got a user forum open this minute. Before posting my loud complaint (I went through this last Spring with many lists---thought they'd finally solved it) I found this message back to a user: "You can't whitelist a server. If the sources are receiving bounce messages that indicate their mail server is being blacklisted by Comcast, then those bounce messages will contain the IP address that needs to be sent to comcast--along with the e-mail address needed to request removal from the blacklist. Unfortunately, it may be a temporary solution at best, if the IPs involved continue to be seen as spam sources by Comcast." I do know that many of the newsletters had this problem, and apparently they had to send their IP addresses, and whatever the h*ll else Comcast wanted. It took 2 months for the newsletters to start showing up again. NOW I will go and give them a piece of my mind. Thanks for the head's up, Mike Sharon - Original Message - From: "M. G.
