I'm not too sure I'd use silver chloride in an ultrasonic unit. If,
on the slight chance, the ultrasonic unit could disassociate even a
tiny part of the AgCl into elemental silver and chlorine gas, you
could be in for a nasty surprise. Chlorine gas is fairly deadly.

It's not good because you made a batch of garbage. Did you not see Ole
Bob's reply to your earlier post? If it is milky after just a few
minutes, it is junk. Are you using tap water to make this in? And then
adding potassium chloride?

Start with PURE distilled water. Even then, some brands are worthless.
You should see darn near NOTHING happening for the first 10 minutes.

I wouldn't even put that garbage into an ultrasonic humidifier, let
alone breathe it in. I wouldn't even drink it, and probably wouldn't
even water a plant with it, from the description you give. Slow down,
reread everything, and make sure you fully understand before you
begin.

No wonder Bob is sooo grumpy.

Somewhere I read that adding a few grains of dead sea salt to the very
first batch was used to get the reaction going, then later you could use
a bit of the CS to "seed" it. I couldn' t find my dead sea salt, so I
used a few grains of KCl instead, I used KCl over table salt so I
wouldn't have any anti-caking additives or iodine. (Seemed best at the

use by what I've read to him so far. It was very metalic-y tasting, is
this due to the silver chloride formed or is all CS like that?

Next batch I'll not use the KCl.

I'm still wanting to try to use it in my ultrasonic humidifier - Does
anyone know if this may not be good because of the silver chloride?

They'd better be mA. :) You wouldn't have any water in the container
if it were Amps.

But, why the KCl? That would speed up the process so you'd need about
10 minutes, total, for producing CS (along with AgCl). Most people
would say you shouldn't put anything into the container but distilled
water and silver electrodes (then, running the process for 30 minutes
should produce about 8 ppm).

I haven't tried the ppm calculator, so I can't say what's going wrong
(the current of 10 mA seems about right for 27 volts after 10
minutes).

Uugghh

Are these maybe mA, not Amps? It just shows an "A" with no "m" before it
on the multimeter.
