ALA is great but I seem to recall it being important to add a B complex if
you use ALA because it tends to deplete the Bs ... anyone want to chime in?

The thing that did the most for me after my feet became numb and painful
burning was niacin.
It increases the blood flow and the normal feeling returned.
Be careful though--start very small and work up. I now take 2 grams a day
but at first 500mg almost did me in. Even 100 might be to big a start.

RE: CSPeripheral Neuropathy

2012-11-15 Thread Nenah Sylver
Gary,

In addition to what others have told you: The nerve pain and even diabetes
can be symptomatic of a dysfunctional LIVER. The liver is responsible for
breaking down poisons into less toxic and eventually chemically neutral
compounds that the body then excretes. The liver does this in four phases.
In any of those phases, if the proper nutrients are not supplied, the toxins
get stuck in the body and in some cases can even be more poisonous than what
was originally ingested or inhaled.

I would (among other things) focus on liver support. Milk Thistle
(silymarin) and Dandelion are two excellent detoxifiers and help the liver
do its job. Once the burden on the liver is lessened, it can do its sugar
handling job better. Yes, the liver is also responsible for carbohydrate
metabolism. Sometimes with diabetes, the chief culprit is the liver as much
as it is the pancreas.

Nerve damage and hence, nerve pain, can mean that the myelin sheath-the
fatty insulation over the nerve cell wires-is partially or completely
stripped. Good fats are important. Coconut oil feeds the liver and is
germicidal. I would also take krill oil. Cheap canned salmon is also a good
choice, as long as it's wild caught. Trader Joe's grocery store sells canned
salmon at a reasonable price.

If you are on a medical plan with insurance benefits, you might be eligible
to be reimbursed for purchasing a Biomodulator. I got a Biomodulator to help
me with lower back pain-sometimes I wouldn't even be able to walk upright,
I'd hurt so bad (this is after a car accident)-and the Biomodulator was a
life saver. It's so small, I can wear it around my waist and use it with
patch electrodes so I could do activity with my hands free. I sometimes wear
the Biomodulator at the gym and do exercises. Unlike a TENS unit, the
Biomodulator actually RESTORES cell function (and hence, eliminates pain)
rather than numbing the C-fibers of the nerve cells which merely masks
symptoms but does nothing to restore body function. Feel free to email me
privately and I will have the company send you a packet of literature.

I developed diabetes when in my 20s but cured myself of it in six years.
Diabetes isn't necessarily a permanent condition. Once you have a functional
understanding of how the body parts interact with each other, you have a
much easier time healing yourself of a collection of symptoms to which
doctors give medical names. I empathize with your suffering. But there IS
hope.

TTP is
Thrombocytopenia is a deficiency of platelets (thrombocytes).

Thrombocytopenia occurs when the bone marrow makes too few platelets or when
too many platelets are destroyed.

Bleeding in the skin and bruising occur.

Blood tests are used to make the diagnosis and determine the cause.

Sometimes platelet transfusions are needed.

The blood usually contains about 140,000 to 440,000 platelets per microliter.
Bleeding can occur with relatively minor trauma when the platelet count falls
below about 50,000 platelets per microliter of blood. The most serious risk of
bleeding, however, generally does not occur until the platelet count falls
below 10,000 to 20,000 platelets per microliter. At these very low levels,
bleeding may occur without any injury. The last count I had from the VA
hospital was 23,000.

Re: CSPeripheral Neuropathy

2010-08-10 Thread Robert L. Booth
I am not on any prescription meds  for cholesterol(statins) .  I take
gabapentin at night for for the neuropathy and terazosin for the prostrate.
When I was first diagnosticed with TTP they tried prednisone.  That did not
work.  I had one injection of Rituxumab ( Rituxan) . What a mistake . All kinds
of allergic reactions (felt like dying)

I haven't followed the whole discussion and the question I have might have
been asked before.

I just caught this email, and wondered re your question about info about
peripheral neuropathy. I read that you have high bloodpressure. Are you on any
prescription meds  for cholesterol(statins) by any chance?

At 10:40 PM 10/08/2010, you wrote:

Sol,

I don't recall if you mentioned whether or not you are diabetic and that the

PN is from that condition.

One of the supplemental assistants is elemental Magnesium and possibly in

high doses.

Another is Vitamin B-12

Another is Gama Linoleic Acid.

I'll send you the rather lengthy article on the above which was sent in to

Beck'n'Stuff list a couple years ago by Donna Crow (owner/mod) who was

helping heal her father from peripheral neuropathy among other things.

Yes, the site you show is the machine they were talking about. I don't
know about any others, as all 3 people talked about this specific machine.
This was about 4 years ago or so, so perhaps there are other machines out

CSperipheral neuropathy

2005-01-26 Thread Dan Nave
A new fat-soluble form of vitamin B1 has demonstrated significant
protection against sugar toxicity at the cellular level. In Europe, this
vitamin B1 derivative called benfotiamine is prescribed for those
suffering from disorders related to sugar toxicity, such as peripheral
neuropathy. The good news is that this nutrient has been added to
popular supplements already being taken by most Life Extension members.
Consumers can thus help protect themselves against the lethal dangers of
excess sugar (glucose) without having to swallow more capsules or spend
more money.
