You get over the ridiculous idea that it's somehow wrong and just do it.

Yea, the guys will look, but they look anyway. [In a mans eyes, a woman
is always naked, nothing new, no big deal. Why not be admired? ]

It's not like it's some unpleasant shock or anything.

I had a lady come by that completely pulled, rebuilt and replaced her car
engine in my shop totally naked.

She didn't want to get her clothes dirty.
I think it's easier to wash greasy clothes than greasy people, but that
was how she wanted to do it.

Very independent minded woman.

Yup -- I sure agree with that. But you failed to mention how us girls are
supposed to work in the sun with our shirts off!! vbgMA ;-)

 From: Wayne Fugitt cwfug...@earthlink.net

One friend makes the hay bales light, 50 to 65 pounds, so that his wife
can handle them. This is very important to her bone health. She is 70
PLUS years old, no bone or joint problems, and still handles the hay bales.

This is hilarious to me Wayne -- in a good way. I'm *only * 61, and I can only
handle hay bales by dragging them (thank goodness for hay-hooks). I don't know
what our hay bales weigh, but I'm guessing maybe 40 to 50 lbs. This gal,
whoever she is, is my hero!!

Work is a blessing in disguise. It must be done if one is to be heathy.

2006-09-09 Thread Marshalee Hallett
Here`s how I handle my hay:
I cut a bale open, and put each pat in a plastic bag, then load the bags in
my car.
It is for my guinea pigs! One bale lasts ohh, 3 months or so. I have 20
piggies, with more coming soon.
Piggies are so much cheaper than my Arabian horse was to feed, but gee, it
is really hard to ride the tiny rascals! I have to tie one under each foot.
I don`t go very far for some reason...Hmm.
:o)

CSSore Knee update ( Sunlight and Work )

Morning Marshalee,

Xrays showed the beginnings of wearing out the meniscus cartilege, and the

I have followed the thread with interest.

I have a question or two because I ask and observe these factors with all
my friends and relatives who have any type of bone and joint problem.

Over the last 3, 5 , or 10 years, how much time have you spent in the
direct sunlight?

This is important to me and others.

The other question is, How much vitamin D and what type do you take every day?

I have many friends who have bone, joint, and disk problems. These are
old, young, slim, fat, you name it. All shapes, forms and fashions.

The one thing they all have in common is this
They have never worked a day in their life in the sun with their shirt off.

Of course some of them have not worked, period.

Some degree of stress on the bone is important.

Well, I`ve been told to stay out of the sun as much as possible, with my fair
Danish skin, I burn like mad, especially at the 4000 ft altitude of Provo.
I get Vitamin D in my supplement, 400 IU, but am not sure what form it is.
  I`m a lady, I don`t think I`ll try working with my shirt off...LOL.

2006-09-08 Thread Raine

Greetings, fellow Dane Marshalee! ;-)

I have found a most marvelous skin protector that allows Vit D through
to the skin. Its coconut oil. I spent 4 hours doing yard work and didn't
get even the slightest burn, where I would normally be a crispy critter.

Hope this is helpful,
Raine

2006-09-08 Thread Robert L. Booth
Hi

In the book entitled Synthesis in Healing by Judy Jacka the author mentions
that the Spleen Chakra relates to the absorption of the Sun. This chakra should
have at least 15 minutes exposure to the Sun once or twice a week. The Spleen
Chakra sends energy to the minor chakras , one of which is the knee chakras.
  Could this help knee problelms?

Re: CSSore Knee update ( Sunlight and Work )

2006-09-08 Thread Pat

When husband and I were walking our usual mile on the
neighborhood streets I heard a pop and had pain. I
thought I'd wait to go to the orthopaedic surgeon and
hope to heal. I went 3 months later and found that
the meniscus had torn and then the rough area was sort
of chewing up the cartilage on the bone end. It would
have been much better to go early. The surgeon said
it's just old age...parts wear out (guess I was about
48 at the time). He said squatting is bad for the
knee. Knee felt better after surgery to remove 20% of
the meniscus but now the cartilage is mostly gone from
the medial knee joint.

I've spent lots of time in the sun without sunscreen
because it bothers my eyes and breaks my face out.
The newer ones are better. I mow and prune, do mulch
and plant flowers, plus used to walk for
exercise.(Seldom have been out in the sun without a
shirt hehehe, but it's usually a sleeveless one with
shorts) My bone scan a couple years ago showed a tiny
bit of loss (hip bone), but barely.
  Pat
