Hi Susan.
Look at the silverpuppy. The basic one worked good for me for making pint
size batches. You would need the Mag unit to make 1/2 gallon and above.

are you looking for an automatic shut off unit? If not and you want to
monitor it, then you can make your own from batteries, wires, fine
silver and pure water. pretty cheap. It is a good idea to get a meter
to read the starting water quality no matter what machine you go with,
either homemade or purchased. I like my COM 100 meter for reading the
electrical conductivity of the water. It is pretty much equal to the
ppm of the water. I got it at the silver puppy site.

silver puppy and silvergen are 2 I hear talked about that are reliable.
Maybe there are others. I think those that have units will speak up
here pretty soon too.

Dear Kirsteen,

I would avoid this particular unit like the plague.

What is it that he is selling?

I couldn't find any info about the silver maker at that link so you may
get very little for your money. There are many colloidal silver
makers from very basic to very sophisticated. Some people sell nothing
more than a couple of wires and a battery for the price of an automated
system.

What are your requirements and in what area of the globe do you live?
Do you want a simple unit you have to monitor or one that you turn on
and come back to when it is done? Battery operated vs 220 VAC vs 115
VAC? One liter a day vs one liter a month usage etc.

2006-11-17 Thread Marshall Dudley
Are you in England? They are shipping from England. They give very few
technical details, but it does not appear to be anywhere near state of
the art.

1. There appears to be no stirring mechanism
2. They do not appear to use constant current, but constant voltage instead
3. Their current appears too high for the electrode size
4. They do not appear to use voltage reversal
5. They do not appear to use distilled water (and thus would not
actually be producing CS most likely at all)
6. They use time to determin when it is ready, and ineffective and
unreliable way since it can vary significantly with water quality

I would use one of the units our members have had good success with,
either a silvergen or a silver puppy unit.

Ok, so I'm an idiot...

I found the description of the unit. The specs are a bit vague, but at
12V output @15ma it is hard to see how they are going to get that.
Silver weight is 6.6 grams. No mention of stirring. Mentions timing to
get higher concentrations. May not have current regulation.

It *may* be OK, but without more specifics I wouldn't buy it. Probably
not as good as a SilverPuppy or a Silvergen. Probably overpriced. Do
they sell a SilverPuppy or a Silvergen operating at 220VAC?
