[RCSE] shipping charges/ and Sal
just want to touch on the shipping charges thing. once i had a aviomodelli motor glider, (very cool model) i lost the canopy. i still flew it, looked like hell, but it flew. i finnally got tired of the look. i couldn't find one anywhere. except in Italy.. so i managed to order one (no one spoke english), the canopy was 12 bucks.. shipping?? 50 bucks.. i was very happy to get it back on the model... i guess no matter what you order, form whoever.. they have to charge shipping. i have never really seen free shipping. well , if you have an order that exceeds 100 bucks from tower, i think they ship for free. but if your gonna order something really small, you may pay just as much for shipping as for the part. oh well, thats the soaring business, if we need it, we have to have it. sometimes it is a high price to pay. but it keeps us flyin. Sal? i suggest try him out... i have done a fair amount of buisness with Sal. I have not had a problem. and if i did. well no one is perfect. and when people mess up, the whinners get all over them... thats par. Sal has a buisness that is totally geared twords us!!! yes there are other places to get things. but it seems that everyone has something alittle different. so we need to shop all of them on occasion...Give the guy some credit for being there! the hobby buisness is a hard one.. It's probebly the last buisness i would want to start. i have seen way to many go under.. If i need something that Sal has,, i am going to get it from him. and if he says it will cost 8 bucks shipping for a single skegg. and i agree. then i am not going to fuss about it... thats life! charlie RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. [RCSE] Re: How to temporarily 'tack' glue?
Jim, I use 3M 77 spray on glue. Only spray on one surface and push pieces together before it dries. Let it dry and then sand away. The parts will pull apart when you're done. If you spray both surfaces, let them dry, then stick them together, you will have a permanent bond. Same can be done with rubber cement in a bottle. -Silas- RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. Send "subscribe" and "unsubscribe" requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Dick Barker wrote: Probably not. Why do they make their Tx charger plug backwards also? I have 8 or so Hitec 555s for my super8 and will keep buying them as I need them. I do not and will not buy any tx that will not be shift compatible with what I have invested in. On the other hand Hitec sells 555s with either shift and a good tx that will transmit on either shift. Too bad multiplex refuses to do the same. Looks like nice stuff but with the wrong shift. Actually, I believe Karlton has said that the Cockpit MM can be modified on reqest by MPX techs to be shift selectable. And I think the Profi 3030 and 4000 are shift selectable. -- Chuck Gadd Director of Software Development, Cyber FX Communications e-mail:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.cfxc.com RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. RE: [RCSE] JR 610M receivers
Actually all of the MPX euqipment is on positive shift (like JR) so modifications are needed to work with Futaba equipment. Almost everyone (except Futaba) uses Positive shift, so no negative shift is possible. As to the FCC regs on the mods. The mod can be done at the factory and is covered if done there. The type cert covers this already. Also the changes are done by a FCC certified tech, so the changes are done correctly already. No need for further changes. You can though get a switch installed that will allow switching between positive and negative shift. This requires individual type certification, which is included in the process by the tech doing the job. [RCSE] Towhook
I responded to an ad on the RCSE from Ziegelmeyer Enterprises for an F3J towhook. He's got a web site which address I lost, but the e-mail is: [EMAIL PROTECTED] 1. As advertised, a husky, sturdy looking towhook. Said to be heat-treated. 2. For the information of our service and shipping fans, I ordered on Saturday and got the hook on Wednesday with a shipping charge of..55 cents! Came in a padded envelope. The only flaw is that he forgot to put L.A. County sales tax on the web site but since I live here I asked about it and included it. [RCSE] How do you charge the battery that charges the batteries?
How do you guys charge the 12V 7.2 Amp gel cell batteries that are used as field quick chargers? I have a Sirrus Pro series charger and a Panasonic 12V 7.2 Amp gel cell battery. I can no longer charge my tx packs and rx packs take forever. I assume it's because the current or voltage in the gel cell has been overly depleted. How do I charge the gel cell? Don't know if it matters that I use one for starting glow powered planes rather then as a recharger, but I just went to Hobbyshack and bought a trickle/wall charger for this purpose. Re: [RCSE] How do you charge the battery that charges the batteries?
interstate batterie's makes a nice charger for that 12 , 7.2 i think it's around 40 to 50 bucks., works great,, use it all the time another idea is to get one of them jump start car batteries,, they come with a charger and have 250 cold cranking amps. it lasts a very long time.. about 90 to 120 bucks... it has a cigarette lighter hole,, ou charge it through that,, and you can plug in your chargers there. or anything else charlie [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Don't know if it matters that I use one for starting glow powered planes rather then as a recharger, but I just went to Hobbyshack and bought a trickle/wall charger for this purpose. The nicad type (constant current) charger will not work for charging the gel cell. Anyone have a Channel 38 crystal for a HiTec/RCD receiver? I'd be happy to swap a channel 41 for it ... or even pay some cash. I believe they retail for about $10 + shipping(!). Thanks. Does anybody know what the density (weight) is of Spyder foam? When I buy 1 lb. virgin white foam, does that indicate it is 1 lb. per square foot? Thanks for the help!
