[RCSE] Re:Marking center line on fus plug

2001-11-08 Thread Thomas Finch

Prop the plug up on a flat board with the fin cl horizontal. Tape a piece
of drafting pencil lead (even 0.7mm lead will work) to a triangle at the
right height. Run it around the plug. Voila cl. Best to use soft lead and
you may have to make a couple of passes. This has the added benefit (???)
of showing how straight and symmetrical your plug is.

[RCSE] forget about antenna tubes!!

2001-11-08 Thread WB6ZHD

Sorry this is late, been busy.
I want the low-tech of the year award for this one.
I used to use all the various antenna tubes so far mentioned, one day in an emergency
I came up with this.
Get a piece of 1/8 or 3/16 x 48" sq. balsa (remember that stuff), tape the end of the
antenna to one end of the strip, shove it down the fuselage, break the balsa strip at
a convenient place, tape it down, done. Takes about 2 minutes, no glueing, easily
removed, etc.

Dave,

It is undoubtedly true that the servos will draw a higher current from a
five cell pack. For the same battery capacity a higher current will
exhaust the battery in a shorter time.

Probably this means that the safe flight time will also be shorter, but
I am not sure.

My observation is that the servo movement is faster when using a five
cell pack. So perhaps the higher current is used for a shorter time. I
have no idea what current a typical servo draws under various
conditions, holding in neutral, moving, holding with controls deflected
etc. But if the current required to move the servo is significantly
higher than that used to hold a particular position, the loss of flying
time capability might be less than expected.

I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other, but there must be
others out there who know about these things.

Is there a new one? The ones I know about that feature lots of DS are "Lift Ticket"
(http://www.reeseproductions.com/), and "Endless Lift 2"
(http://www.radiocarbonart.com). The former feature about 40 minutes of solid DS
footage, the later much less.

If it wasn't either of these tapes, please let us know what you find.

[RCSE] For Sale

2001-11-08 Thread Chuck Robinett

I need to reduce the number of open sailplanes that I have (too many planes,
not enough time).

1) Addiction - 122" quad tape wings with 7037 airfoil. The plane only has a
few flights on it and is in excellent condition. I am willing to sell it
with or without servos, receiver and battery. Currently I have Multiplex
MCv2 Micros for flaps and elevator, Hitec HS 85MG for ailerons and rudder.
The receiver is a Hitec Superslim 8ch setup for Airtronics with a new 1100
ma battery. RTF with servos, receiver and battery I am asking $900.
Without servos, receiver, and battery I am asking $590. In both cases,
shipping is extra.

2) Molded Psyko - with the square joiner rod. The plane is in excellent
condition and has a minimum number of flights. Wing span is 124" with a
7035 airfoil. White on top, blue on bottom with fluorescent orange trim on
top of wing (which can be easily removed). I am asking $575 for just the
plane, no electronics

3) Wing Bags -a set of light blue nylon foam padded wing bags that fit an 2
piece open ship wing (up to 124"). I am asking $50 plus shipping the wing
bags.

E-mail me offline for pictures and any other details at

Thanks

Chuck
