[RCSE] Re: Multiplex Cockpit Development

2003-01-18 Thread charles . clegg

I, too have found Karlton goes above and beyond. Despite living in
Australia, and therefore not being a potential customer, he answered
several E-mails when I was considering which radio too buy (and answered
promptly). I cannot say this for many vendors fron whom I have tried to buy
items! I located a then agent here and bought my Cockpit radio, and it has
served me well.

If you ever complete the software, I'd love a copy. Put me on a
notification list (if you can be bothered keeping one :) )

[RCSE] help with a hi start link

2003-01-18 Thread shelden
A while back there was a post about hi starts. Someone put out a link that
had some info on figuring the pounds of pull needed for a given size a/c.
If anyone remembers this, I'd appreciate the link. I've searched the
archives and google just can't seem to find it.

Thanks in advance,
Charlie

[RCSE] newer 6 ch hitec w futaba 8u tx

2003-01-18 Thread Martin Cleary

Ive been out of the game for a while...I need a rx
for a 6 ch (2 flap) a/c that will work with my Futaba 8u. Will the newer 6
channel work from hitec? It looks like it's made similar to the 555 which
has always been a winner. Another way to phrase the question:Do I
need a channel 7 to run two flaps with my Futaba 8u?

Thanks

Martin

Hi Charlie,

Responding on-line in case someone else might like to know - hope you don't
mind.

Rich Hollyday used to sell some really good hi-starts (I own one) and,
although he doesn't anymore, still maintains his site with a lot of info on
it. Try http://www.hollyday.com/rich/hd/sailplanes/high-starts.htm On the
left under the flag are several areas of interest to select from and within
some of them are links elsewhere. The one at the Charles River site is
particularly good as is everything else there. Aerofoam picked up the
hi-start line Rich used to carry - try http://www.aerofoam.com/hosemonster.html

Hope this helps.

Re: [RCSE] newer 6 ch hitec w futaba 8u tx

2003-01-18 Thread jaffee
For a 4 servo wing, yes, you'll need a 7 channel radio, since Futaba uses
channels 5 6 and 7 for the two flaps and second aileron. Perhaps there's a
way to do it using the otherwised unused channel 3 for one of the flaps,
but I'm not sure.

2003-01-18 Thread gabe baltaian
Hi all,

I'll be in San Diego all of next week (and possibly the week after). Any orders
received by tomorrow will be shipped out late Sunday / early Monday, but afterwards it
becomes a bit of a toss-up.

If anybody's interested in television and how it gets to be that way, I've put up a
(very) few pictures on my site at:
http://www.airdyn.com/

Cheers,

The hitec 6 channel will work fine as will the superslim 8.
Personally I'd buy the SS8 in case you want to swap it later in it's
  life. gvMartin Cleary wrote:

Re: [RCSE] newer 6 ch hitec w futaba 8u tx

2003-01-18 Thread jaffee
You could try doing a PMIX from channel 7 to channel 3 (make sure LINK is
turned on in the mix). The thing is, the Futaba uses the throttle (which
is normally channel 3) for the airbrake functions in glider mode, so I'm
not sure that would really work.

[RCSE] CORETECH DOC TALLY.

2003-01-18 Thread Harley Michaelis
I'm impressed! To date 74 of you requested the file. I had no idea that so
many either cut cores or have an interest in doing so. It is good to know
that not everyone has capitulated to abandoning building skills and having
others do everything for them.

Now I wish that some of you would get with it and plan to build the awesome
145-1/2
span, vacuum-bagged GENIE sailplane for this year. There is plenty of time.
Please see http://www.proptwisters.org/genie/genie.html for details.

Also, I have a new document that breaks down the cost of materials that go
into this
ship. Your options are to have one for about $225, $300 or $400 depending
how elaborate you want to get. I've yet to get $400 into one of mine, but
will go whole hog on #24 underway.

Ask me to e-mail GENIECOSTS.doc if interested.
