RE: [RCSE] New radios puzzling.
I think you are correct about the 9303, but you give too much credit to JR. The credit goes to Horizon Hobbies. Graupner made the MX22 a 10-12CH pretty dam flexible version of the 9303, JR then release the 9x to the rest of the world and the programming was very disappointing and inadequate. I guess Horizon saw this and refused to take the 9x from Japan and developed their own software for the radio. All 3 radios look the same except the writing. Horizon is the one that offers the quality backup and service, not JR. JR Japan it self is pretty bloody poor. Well I have seen this radio, and if you relish software to meet your specific sailplane needs, then the 9303 is the one. I would hazard to say without equivocation that this is the best thing to address sailplane specific programming tasks since the well respected Airtronics Vision et al. The Airtronics age is past, regardless of the fondness of them here. (opinion showing) The 9303, aside from ease of programming, has the most dedicated and sophisticated glider presets of any radio on the market. JR seems to be the company that really has their ear to the ground these days with not only product, but on site customer support and back up. If software and the other ancillary benefits don't mean much to you, then stick with what you find comfortable. If you really want to know about this thing, go to your dealer and play with one yourself. You might be pleasantly surprised. A very biased but honest endorsement based on my personal experience. Re: [RCSE] Vision channel outputs
The 10x will do it. If you want to have reverse differential in your landing flight mode on the 9303, you can. However, I don't use it with my setup. At 10:13 PM 9/21/2004, Lincoln Ross wrote: P.S. [RCSE] ACE olympic V
Ok, so I got an ACE Olympic V AM Tx and narrow band Rx in a deal on an airplane. Batteries are new and good. Stickers show a check up in 2002. Ace radios were pretty reliable I guess. How much should I trust this old system? (It was factory built and the previous owner is a long time flyer who seems quite capable) I do not plan on putting it in anything pricey mind you, just want to know if it is safe at the club field. RE: [RCSE] New radios puzzling.
Dang it, I made a mistake when I typed that out, but it does what you want. What I meant to say is you make the settings for the flight modes CRUISE and LAND identical, and then it doesn't matter if you throw the switch or not. It will do what you want here! 8-) At 10:11 PM 9/21/2004, James V. Bacus wrote: The answer here is you can have it your way. What radio are you currently using? I'm using an 8103 and the 9X. I'm about to leave to pick up my 9303. The thing that I most want is flight modes and the ability to do a 6 wing servo glider without doing a bunch of crazy mixes. -Ben Bill Swingle wrote: I'm puzzled. Actually, this new 9303 is fairly exciting to me. I like the software design a lot, and the price performance ratio. I don't have a back up to my 10x, that would be a lot of $$$ to be sitting in reserve. I am doing a write up at the moment... give me a moment or two and you will get some initial pictures as well.
