[RCSE] data safe for JR

2005-10-16 Thread James R MacLean
For those owners of the JR9303 radio, the data safe now works with it.
You have to download some new software from the website. Look under Data
Safe 2 -- Manuals. I suggest Horison make this more clear and start to
provide the new software CD. The technician yesterday was momentairly
confused but recovered nicely and helped me out. Works fine.

The Babel Fish is small, yellow, and simultaneously translates from one
spoken language to another.

When inserted into the ear, its nutrition processes convert sound waves
into brain waves, neatly crossing the language divide between any
species you should happen to meet whilst travelling in space.

Some say that the evolution of the Babel fish could not have been
accidental, and hence that it proves the non-existence of God.

Arthur Dent, a surviving Earthling, commented only 'Eurgh!' when first
inserting the fish into his ear canal. It did, however, enable him to
understand Vogon Poetry - not, necessarily, a good thing...

Hey now,
It'd from Douglas Adam's series The hitch hiker's guide to the
galaxy, the babal fish is a small leachlike fish that feeds on and
excretes brain waves. The upshot is that if you put one in your ear you
can instantly understand any language spoken to you by a living being.

[RCSE] TRANSLATION WANTED

2005-10-16 Thread Mickey Sullivan
Some years ago I purchased a 1/4 scale ASW 27 from Sailplanes Unlimited, a
nice kit. The most involved part of the construction was covering the obechi
wings. The instructions were in German. The 27 went together without the
instructions; however, I was curious. My lovely wife is fluent in
Swiss-German. The written language is in German though. Many of the
technical words were new, but with a little work made sense. In the process
of translating the German I realised how easy it would be the assemble a
canard WAZZO 27 which closely resembles the Bablefish.
One unforseen result of this joint effort is that I occasionally talk in my
sleep in German using these new aeronautical terms. My wife wakes me up
asking what all the babbling is about.
It's amazing how some mysteries get solved.

Some green air, please,

Mickey Sullivan
