The more you fly the gliders you like and identify the particular aspects of one vs. another design that you like and dislike, you tend to trend toward those favorable aspects. You tend to see those aspects as right, correct, nice, pleasing, attractive, sexy,...um, well you get my point. I should qualify that and say that this only applies if you care how it flies, and can really truly identify the aspects of a design that cause the favorable results. I look at gliders the way the wind does up to a point. I have aesthetic constraints that keep me wind guided eye from seeing the benefits of a pylon mounted wing for example, and sorry Tom Kiesling but there is no way that I will ever think that the Mantis looks good even though it is truly form to function desgin. We were ordered, by Corps of Engineer personnel, to refrain from flying the front side of Percy Priest Dam in Nashville on Saturday. Of course it was one of the few Saturday's that we had a perfect NW +15 mph wind. The really strange thing is they stated that is was closed to foot traffic on the front side (grassy side) due to security reasons related to the 9/11 incident. However they have not stopped the auto/truck traffic that rolls right along on the top of the dam. Sure doesn't make any sense to me and they are really cramping my pursuit of happiness rights. So anyone else running into this?? Suggestions as to how and who to complain too?? BTW we can still fly the water side of the dam... I bought a Pro-Series Smart charger off the swap shop..Got a very good deal on it..When I recieved it I find that it is an Ace version..The man includes a note say How lucky I was to have one of the really good ones as this one was made before Ace screwed them up .. [RCSE] 3 function--or--RES
I have noticed several contests listing a 3 function classThat is where you can program out your rudder and fly, ail--elevator--and flaps??
