Re: [RCSE] Airtronics Stylus

2005-11-11 Thread lenci1938e
I called Airtronics today to ask some general questions regarding the
Stylus transmitter. One of the questions I asked is are they working
on a synthesized tx module. The answer I received today was NO! I
also asked if they were working on anything new to replace the Stylus
as is it a few years old now and did not get a definite answer. I am
still baffeled at the need to buy glider card and model memory card
at a significant extra cost to the price of the transmitter. The JR
9303 (I realize this is much newer radio on the market) has both
features built into the transmitter that you pay extra for with a
Stylus. Why I ask?

enthusiasts out in

going to

spend all of

crystals. I
already have a couple of them and don't need anymore.

[RCSE] JR9303 or Aritronics Stylus????

2005-11-11 Thread lenci1938e
Hello,

I know there was a post today regarding Airtronics and a sythesized
module for the Stylus. My question is which if the two radios is
better suited for R/C sailplanes? I currently have a 9303 and was
considering buying my friends Stylus to have one of each and compare.
Which one would you rather own? Wurts flys the 9303 and Perkins flys
the Stylus. Maybe it doesn't matter?

Re: [RCSE] Long music wire????

2005-09-14 Thread lenci1938e
Guys,

Thanks for all the replies regarding my search for 48 music wire. I
have a lot of responses both on RCSE and private.

Thanks again!

You can get dead-straight hard stainless steel wire from
www.smallparts.com in 60 lengths. Not quite as hard
as piano wire, but pretty close. The drawback is that
the 0.06 size is about $12 a piece, plus an extra
 oversize shipping charge.

They also have loose coils of hard stainless wire, but only up to
0.043 diameter. This stuff is vastly cheaper at $4 for 30 feet.

[RCSE] Long music wire????

2005-09-12 Thread lenci1938e
Anyone have a good source for 48 or longer 1/16 straight music wire
for pushrods? I have a couple of projects that 36 wire is not going
to get it.

Thanks,

Shawn

[RCSE] Vision Battery Pack?

2005-07-11 Thread lenci1938e
Hi,

Does anyone know any hobby shops that still have some tranmitter packs
for the Vision 8SP radio? Airtronics no longer stocks the TX packs.
Does anyone have a good TX battery case avaiable? One where both
sliding tabs work properly. I am not concerned with the condition of
the batteries.

Thanks,

[RCSE] Dodgson Designs !!!

2002-01-07 Thread lenci1938e

To all Dodgson Designs flyers,

Thanks to all of you that responded both on the exchange and to me
privately. There was much more correspondence than I thought there
would be. There seams to be a big interest in the Pivot. That is
good. It was the one kit I thought I would try to build first as it
is small and would have the minimum amount of startup investment. I
was thinking of trying to put together about 20 kits and see if they
would sell. I have a few things to iron out so if anything happens
it would be later in 2002.

If anyone has an unbuilt kit and would like to sell it it would be
much appreciated. I still need of of these kits to use as a
prototype. If you would weigh the fuse and canopy on a gram scale and
email the weights of the fuse that would help. At least I would have
a target weight to lay the new fuses at.

If anyone has any Dodgson kits they want to sell I very well may be
interested. I have many but am still missing some to complete the
collection of prototypes that will be used for production. Email or
call with what you have available. I could do something like buy it
from you and offer somekind of deal on a new kit when they are
produced.

Any help, old catalogs, plans, instructions (for any of Bob's kits)
that you don't mind parting with will be great. I would even like
photo copies or I can copy and mail original back to you. What ever
you can do.

Email photos of your old Dodgson planes. I'll keep and archive and
may possibly use some in future newsletters, etc.

Looking forward to hearing from all of you,

Have a great New Year,
