[RCSE] I know it ain't Muncie, but it is Visalia....!:-)

2004-09-29 Thread GordySoar

Tomorrow I fly!

On the airlines and at the field! Wish I could be both places at once
though. OVSS is this weekend at Muncie and since I got won a couple of the
JR Overall Points wins, who knows I might have qualified for winning the new JR
9303 offered to the over all over all.:-) (a guy can dream can't he, even if he
only flys a lowly Pike Superior:-)

Muncie will be a true grit man on man contest and Visalia...well its
Visalia...and I'm ready for some fun and to watch our best do what I love to
see! Drink beer and laugh!

Looks like the weather is going to be similar :-)
Muncie 60's and possible rain on Sat
Visalia 80's and sunny.

Good luck out there OVSS!

I'll take Visalia. Wish I was going. Looks like I'll be flying in
Huntsville Saturday.

Hey Gordy,

I think your chances of winning a JR XP9303
are better at Visalia. Just come in 100th place and win a new radio! But I know
your much better then that, you'd have to throw a round or two to finish that
low. 8^)

But you can buy a few thousand raffle
tickets to get a shot at the two 9303 systems that we donated to the
raffle.

See you at Visalia!
John

Speaking of Visalia, does anyone know what landing
task they have decided to roll the dice with... uh
punish us with uh I mean.??? ;-)

Not that it matters. I was just curious.

D,
I think it is 10 seconds before you land, you toss a dime out onto
the LZ, if you hit it, you get 20 pt

I heard it was a 1-inch spot in or out (painted green to match the grass and
you stand 25 feet away behind a six-foot tall block wall), no skegs, and
anyone who has won a World Title 3 or more times has to fly blindfolded with
Gordy as his seeing-eye timer!!! Oh, and as soon as you miss the spot you
have to pack up your stuff, leave the contest, and take up RC Yachting.

I've also heard that there will be no count down allowed in the last half of
any flight.

I may be a little confused on some of the details, but I think I'm close :~}

Hi Daryl!!
and the rest that's coming to Visalia!
The last I heard at the last club meeting. Jason ( Our Landing Judge)had a
plan that was allot easier than in the past. More contestants should get
higher landing points. So air time will be very important this year. Just
practice landing in a 18 circle. You will do quite well.

From last night weather report the winds are coming from the North West
with
week. That means you will be launching into the wind and landing into the
wind. It will be cool mid 70's during the day time and mid 50's at night.
