I went to Turkey with Larry a few weeks ago and I liked everyone I met. Of
course, most of them were modelers and whats not to like about a model airplane
geek ? :) The point is, they were friendly, treated me with respect, and
really made a positive impression. I look forward to going back this summer and
seeing my new friends.

>From what I saw, the world championships will be a very well organized event
that will leave a positive impression on a lot of people from around the
world. The local Istanbul club (Soarist) isn't just showing off their
organizational skills, they are showing off their country. Checkout soarist.com
for nice
soaring pics with background music.

I would be willing to bet the kind folks who live in the beautiful country of
Turkey would still take the high road and thrust their hand out if you actually

John,
You are totally off base here! As there are good and bad Christians, there
are good and bad Muslims. I don't feel the need to educate you here, but I
can tell you that Turkey is the one European Country that I could and would
live
if I left the US. Theirs is a secular Muslim Majority Country that also
happens to be democratic and very Freedom loving. Not to mention their long
time
alliance with the US and 2 major US military bases on their soil. Larry

I went to the site and donated $20.00, super easy and quick using paypal.

I would have loved to buy a hat, but the artwork has the crescent/star
symbol incorporated in the design, and I would no sooner wear that than
I would walk around sporting a swastika or a hammer and sickle.

It might be a good idea to re-work the design, I think a lot more stuff
might be sold...

Good luck team USA!

I'm putting up $100 right now. I would like to see at least 50 of our great

let's shoot for $100.

Just reply to the this email (to the group) with your name and amount.

Yes, it is this weekend at Poway. I'll be armed with my freshly acquired

This will be my first Unlimited TD plane flying on 2.4. No pin baby, yeah.

BTW, the SC2 contest is on Sunday at the Poway thermal field.

Hi Guys,

DOes anybody know who is heading up the fundraising for the USA F3J Team. I

offered up my copy of the 3R's of Soaring to Matt Fair if he would donate
$25 to the USA F3J Team. Matt graciously jumped on the offer, but so far I
have not been able to determine who Matt needs to send the check to.
