The mount command in pCP is not setup to mount two layers deep.

What happens if you enable the "Simpler Share" option in your NAS?
What does the mount look like now?

Thanks for reporting, looks like Michael(mherger) missed to update
maxTarget to 8.* when he added my other plugins to the unsupported
repository. He will likely fix it when he sees this post. If it isn’t
fixed in near future we just need to contact him and make him aware of
the error.

I guess you are talking about the user interface on the device itself ?
If so, you are correct, the TrackStat menu would only be available if
the device is connected to LMS. A player connected to mysqueezebox.com
wouldn’t show any third party plugin menus.

In the LMS web interface the menu would be available even if no player
is connected to LMS, unless I’m missing something.

Right now the advantages would be that Ratings Light is actively
supported, on longer terms the advantages would be that you have a
chance to get new functionality. My plugins have a pretty large code
base so it would be a high (pretty boring) threshold for someone else to
understand them good enough to be able to add new functionality. Just
fixing bugs would probably be feasible but that’s likely not going to be
interesting for someone to spend time doing for free on longer terms.

It turns out that the Trackstat menu item is only displayed when a
player is connected to the server. I managed to make it visible by
starting the Squeezeelite-X player on my PC. (Playback on doesn't seem

Good to know about that. (I don't quite understand the advantages over

Also interesting. I don't quite understand yet how the tagging works in
practice, i.e. how I get the info from on the web into my LMS, but
that's just mig ignorance about music tagging. So far I have not even
cared enough to maintain consistent Genre tags (except for classical
music), but these extended tags sound interesting.

The delay is confirmed in the packet captures.
The LMS doesn't have anything else to do.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] macOS Cataline LMS Pref Pane wood accept LMS login

running macOS Catalina 10.15.7, LMS v 8.1.1/r1609569900, LMS server is

I successfully added login to secure LMS. Safari LMS page
(localhost:9000) asks for authentication and accepts name and password
created on Settings/Advanced/Security page, on 2 different Macs, but on
the LMS server Mac mini Preference Pane, when you hit Information tab,
it asks for authentication, but will not accept the same name/password
as Safari does successfully. How do I reset the Preference Pane so it
will accept login? The Presence Pane recognizes the login for

Thanks.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] "Play Other Songs In Album" function not working

I have -Play Other Songs In Album or Directory-enabled for my players,
which include both Touch and piCoreplayers. After a single track is
selected and played, it should continue to play the remaining tracks,
but the tracks stop. If I enable -Don't Stop the Music-, then random
tracks will load and play as expected, but not the remaining tracks in
the selected album.
LMS is 8.1.0 - 1608700893 @ Wed Dec 23 on a piCoreplayer server and also
on a Vortexbox, both showing the same behavior.

I can't recall if this was happening on my previous 7.9 version. Any

Thank's Paul, I managed to do it!... I opend the shell typing ssh
volumio@10.0.0.6 in the terminal and then typed mount: got a bunch of
information amongst other:

//10.0.0.1/sda2/Music on /mnt/NAS/Fragulin type cifs

where "Fragulin" is the name with which I formatted the disk, but I
already tried to mount the disk in pCP with that name as the share name,
as well as "NAS", but the results were the same disk mount error..

As of today, it doesn't.
However, LMS isn't picking up any updates and

Do I need to do something manually to force an update?

Oh, 8.1.0 is a release. It won't be updated. You either wait until the
next release is ready, or you get a nightly build from
http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=8.1. It should be stable,
only has some bug fixes in addition to 8.1.0

Yes I tried both, I tried also using the password 1/1 as suggested by

Thank You Paul; there is no password; it is shared also to guest
users... however I will try your suggestions. But could you tell me hat
should I exactly put in share name? the name of the medial folder, or
its hierarchical superior, or what ? the name of the disk (in which case
it 's hard to understand what should this name be...) is the name that I
see on the Mac smb://10.0.0.1/*sda2* ? or is it the name that I see in
Volumio /mnt/NAS/*MYNAME*/Media ? Or the name of the of the disk that I
see when I mount it on the Mac which is *MYNAME*/Music/Media; or any
other of the parts of the path? Is this that I can't figure out..

on the router it is like that:

What is the configuration of your router. Is it open (no password) or
is there a username and password configured. The manual is a bit vague
as to authentication options.

A few things to try.
1) If there is no password to access, try putting a "1" in both the
username and password field. Sometimes mount just likes to have those
fields populated.
2) Setup a username and password on your router for the share, then
obviously add it to the mount line.
3) If there is still a problem, try adding the "cifs-utils" extension.
That is the official mount helpers for cifs/samba..we don't include
it by default as it is quite heavy, and most don't need it. But give
it a shot if the password options above don't work.

by the way when I use the LMS in volumio, I can see the path it mounts
which is something like /mnt/NAS/MyName/Media .. which is quite strange
to me: name is the name I gave the disk when I formatted it with the
Mac.. and Media is the subfolder containing the Music Files in the
drive, NAS I don't know where it does take from.. (probably in Volumio
the drive is identified with NAS) but I tried all of these names and it
doesn't work either

by the way Media is a subfolder of the the folder Music, so it should be
/mnt/NAS/MyName/Music/Media..

Seems good to me. Guess the issue must be with the libraries being built
on a system that appears buggy to say the least as it created libraries
for two different architectures.

It's not too big an issue to build them yourself though. To start, you
need Debian build-essentials of course. Get the source files by cloning
https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver-vendor and make sure to read the
README in the slimserver-vendor/CPAN folder. It should suffice to run
the buildme.sh script which will build a shipload of stuff, some of
which likely to be redundant on a live system, but that shouldn't hurt
too much on a pentium class processor.

Hi, I'm completely new to Linux, PicorePlayer and LMS

I just installed my first Raspberry Pi and tried to configure PiCore
Player following the instructions on the site; however when it comes to
network drives the example provided does not exactly match my case; I
have a portable 4TB USB drive connected to the USB port on the router:
On my Mac it shows like smb://10.0.0.1/sda2/Music/Media or
//router/sda2/Music/Media (Music being the folder where the files

The point is that I'm totally newbie to mounting disk; I don't actually
understand where should I mount and how the disk, or what I should write
in the pCP LMS fields; for me it is just available on the network (with
Volumio for example I ca easily select it as my music source) but I
don't know how to do it with pCP.. I tried several share names but I
always get the same error message (see below): it is clear that I don't
have any idea on how the RPI "sees" my network drive (which is not a
NAS, just a usb drive connected to the Router an ASUSRT68U) ; last but
not least the drive is formatted with MAC HFS filesystem, however I
installed the support for other file systems in pCP..)

Does any one have any suggestion?

In which case the full effects of half duplex / 10mb to the server NIC,
are really "seen" by the SB1.
Since it is a managed switch - can you set the port to the SB1 to half
duplex / 10 Mbit ? However I don't see that as main issue since it used
to work before.

When you said you added a delay - how was that done ? using sleep ?
Since LMS is single threaded using AnyEvent, I'm not sure whether sleep
might have side effects.

I'll have to work through the wireshark logs a bit more then.

The packet -is correct -- the hostname is "files" - not very
imaginative, but it was at one time the file-server.

On each of the test systems I can see the packet going out with the
null-padded host-name. 4 different versions and 4 different hosts -
always behaving the same way, so I am sure the server is behaving
correctly.

1. as noted above, the server name is correct
2. the SB is getting and responding correctly to every other sort of
packet from 3 different bits of hardware plugged into the same switch,
so I can't see any failure path there.

If that refers to the "media library name" then I discovered in 2016
that having a non-empty value for that will definitely make the SB fail.
I'll check it anyway.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] AAC radio stream stopped working after update to LMS 8.1.0: Frisky Radio

2021-01-03 Thread damazta

Frisky Radio broadcasts an HQ AAC stream here:
http://stream.friskyradio.com:8000/frisky_aac_hi. The stream seems to be
fine, as Foobar 2000 is playing it right now: 32806
However, my Booms refuse to play citing problems with the file type.
Server log says:

create command line for aac playback for
[http://stream.friskyradio.com:8000/frisky_aac_hi]
I set every AAC file type to play "native", and disabled all
transcoding. AFAIK, native AAC from above stream worked fine
previously.

What can I do to fix this, preferrably without transcoding?

As of today, it doesn't.
However, LMS isn't picking up any updates and

Do I need to do something manually to force an update?

The CPAN buildme.sh script creates both i386-linux-thread-multi-64int
and i486-linux-gnu-thread-multi-64int for my custom perl 5.28 and as
well as the os installed 5.14 perl.

I've been running LMS with both folders forever. I'm happy to clean up
the image, however, it's likely better to just rebuild the CPAN modules
on the old computer.

I can help you with that if you like.

According to ralphy, he compiled the libs for 5.28.1, which is exactly
the version of perl I use on my system.

It still is what the error states. Maybe you have multiple versions of
these loadable libraries in various paths and it finds the other one
first.

The archive Ralphy provided imho is invalid. We'll need him to clean it
up, as it provides two copies of the files in two different folders.

I'd start by getting rid of everything in CPAN/arch as none of it is
good for your platform, OS, and Perl version. Then copy the files you
got from Ralphy into that subdir and run Squeezeboxserver normally.

Additional note: the x86 system I use as a crossdev platform for arm32
reports as `i686-linux-thread-multi`. Can't verify as it runs Perl 5.30,
but I would expect similar errors as you are seeing with libraries
compiled for either `i386-linux-thread-multi-64int` or
`i486-linux-gnu-thread-multi-64int`

perl -I ~/i386-linux-thread-multi-64int/ -I
