[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] RSS News Ticker: Where Are My Old Feeds Stored?
I realize I might be one of few that still uses the RSS News Feed plugin for SBC, but I had to re-install LMS and I thought I backed up my old settings but I cannot find in any of the plugins files my old RSS feeds. Does anyone know where they would have been stored in my old setup? Maybe my backup isn't great but I cannot find those files. The two feeds that I used were ones I had to create and it's been a long time and I don't remember how/where I created them. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] "Remove Played Songs" Plugin No Longer Working
Sorry .. been away for a couple of days since I posted this. @bpa .. I looked on the "Settings/Plugins" tab but don't see an "unsupported plugins" option. Even did a search for "supported" and unsupported." Not on my install. @apesbrain .. It is enabled on all of my players. Is listed in "active plugins." Just doesn't work. I did try to "downgrade" to 7.* and re-install all plugins and settings (with the .xml updated to maxversion = 8.* )but still seem to be stuck on 8.0.0 . So, that doesn't even work (for me, anyway). [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] "Remove Played Songs" Plugin No Longer Working
I manually updated Erland's "Remove Played Songs" plugin .XML file to "8.*" hoping that would give it functionality under LMS 8.* but that hasn't revived the plugin. Obviously, it needs something else changed to make it work with 8(?). Does anyone know what else needs to be done to get this working again? I'm used to my Spicefly random plays having the old songs removed but now I'm having to delete each song manually. Plugin that was updated back in 2008 by Eric Koldinger is available here: https://github.com/koldinger/RemovePlayedSongs This was probably the very first plugin that I installed after I bought my first 'Box from SlimDevices. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Praise
Agree 100%. I've been using Squeezeboxen since ~2007 and I have never wanted to use anything else. Sad that Logitech stopped production but grateful that they continue to sponsor the server and this discussion. There is no better streaming server, IMO. And it does keep getting better and better. Still hoping for a *simple* *secure* integration with Amazon Music without opening ports to the internet. And a *simple* *secure* way to access my server away from home. But I still use this server every day. I only wish I had the knowledge to contribute to the software, but I truly appreciate those who do! Well .. I decided to look a little harder. Almost 5 minutes after posting the previous reply, I did a little more sleuthing I found a trace to a Google Code archive (that I participated in but forgot about the discussion) 12 years ago after talk of reviving Erland's original project to work with LMS7. I've spent a fair amount of time doing searches the last two days but for anyone in the future looking for Eric's repositories, he's put them up on Github (thank you Eric). You can find them here (hope Eric doesn't mind me putting a link up. If you do Eric, I will remove the link. Thank you, bpa! That all looks to be above my ability to put together, but I really appreciate the help. I know it's an old site and only with the determination of a couple of determined fans it came back after the death of the founder. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] RealMedia Streaming Playback?
RealPlayer streams. Here is a link to a page that has sample exhibits that are similar to what I would like to listen to on my Squeezeboxen. http://www.reelradio.com/rdsc/airchecks.html#rdskhj040269 Another wrinkle is that this site is basically designated as a library (because of ridiculous RIAA harassment over exhibits that are over 50 years old) that requires membership (I'm a paid member). So, I don't know if that would make it impossible to play through LMS or not. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] RealMedia Streaming Playback?
I am a member of a website (ReelRadio.com) that I have used since about 1996 which features streams only available in RealMedia format (.rm files). Yes. I know. Real Media/Real Audio is an old format that most sites have abandoned. But the site that I want to listen to exhibits from will never change/upgrade to newer formats. In fact, when the person who started and ran the website died last year it went dark only to be revived by fans of the site and it is mostly volunteer and relies on donations to stay afloat. So, the chances of re-working streams are close to nil. How can I listen to these streams through Logitech Media Server? I have searched but cannot find a way to do this. 21573LMS Version # 7.9.0 - 1457012561 The feature is simply called "Log Of Songs Played" and it resides in the "Extras" menu. I find this much more full featured and more useful than WWTT (no offense .. I think both are nice). It includes date played, time, and the folder or web address the file resides in. It also (normally but for some reason not showing up here) includes "Play" "Play Next" and "+" icons where I can tell it to play or add to the playlist directly from the log. I can see quite a lot in one page and it is set up to go back by month. Is there any way that I can install/add this on the latest builds? WWtT is okay, but whatever that old log was gave MUCH more info and it was nice because you could see a LOT of songs in one view, the folder that it resided in, album name, date and time it last played, etc and like I said, you could play a song directly from that last or add it to the playlist. I remember you could see about 50 or 100 of the last songs in chronological order on one page and you could select the month you wanted to see with a dropdown at the top right corner. I wish I could get that back. I think it wasn't even more than 6 months ago that I was using it and I know it was either in 7.8 or 7.9. Now, I can't find it and wish I had it back! [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Extras Menu: List Songs Played
I just reinstalled LMS on a newer computer in the house and trying to get everything set up with this fresh install. I am confused though -- there used to something in the "Extras" menu called "List Of Songs Played" or something like that, but I can't find it nor any associated plugin. I used to use it all of the time and it would save all songs played for each month and I could even play a song right or cue it up from there. Does anyone know what might have happened and how I can get that function back? I've run out of ways to figure out what plugin it is. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS gui - why no STOP button ?
I've always wished that there was a STOP button on the Default skin (web interface), but I just always use the "Clear Playlist" button on the lower right (the 'X') which does the same thing so not a big woop for me. Honestly, you start adding more buttons and the interface becomes a clunky mess. On the Controller, I just long press the PLAY button. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Dynamic Range
IMO, ReplayGain is an absolute must with a digital music player. Just make sure that you choose "Smart Gain" in your ReplayGain settings so if you are playing random tracks it uses track values and album value when playing a full album. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Shuffle Play Resetting On Every New Song
I think I figured it out. I originally input 'findstr server.prefs.' I just ran it as 'findstr shuffle server.prefs' and got back the following: _ts_shuffle: 1465422908 shuffle: 0 _ts_shuffle: 1464883863 shuffle: 0 _ts_reshuffleOnRepeat: 1464724499 reshuffleOnRepeat: NFLnut's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13180 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105673 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Shuffle Play Resetting On Every New Song
This is in Winblows 10. I ran the "findstr" command in a command prompt as an administrator. It just hangs and doesn't do anything. I've never run a findstr command, so I'm probably doing it wrong. :) NFLnut's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13180 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105673 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Shuffle Play Resetting On Every New Song
Well .. I thought I had this one taken care of. But it's back, even with the new server.prefs. I have tried disabling, one at a time: (a) Crossfading. (b) Replay Gain. and (c) Remove Played Songs. to see if one of these were causing shuffle to be turned off with every new song. Disabling them one at a time had no effect. Shuffle is being turned off with every new song. Any ideas/suggestions? Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Shuffle Play Resetting On Every New Song
Thanks, but I am not using a random mix when the resetting occurs. It just started doing this when I moved the server over to another computer. I'm thinking that I may remove the copied-over server.prefs and force it to create a new one and see if that fixes the issue. Any other suggestions, of course, are always appreciated however. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Shuffle Play Resetting On Every New Song
Recently, I moved my LMS install from one computer to another. I copied over my server.prefs and other files so that may be the problem, but when I click the shuffle button, it remains on shuffle until it starts playing a new song and then it turns off shuffle every time. Does anyone know how to get it to STAY on shuffle? I never had this problem after about 8 years of using my Squeeeboxes until now. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Constant "Connecting To HTPC" Problem
Gone like a bad habit. That did the trick. I (probably) never would have ventured into the server.prefs file and dare edit it without specific details, thus never solving. Thanks again. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Constant "Connecting To HTPC" Problem
Thanks, Michael. Yes .. I did copy over the server.prefs file. I have it opened to edit it, but do I delete the "_ts_server_uuid:" line, or the "_server_uuid: xxx-xxx" line, or both? [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Constant "Connecting To HTPC" Problem
For the last 5-6 years I have had LMS (Squeezebox Server, etc) installed and running from my HTPC. Recently, I decided to move the server over to another computer on the network because the server on the HTPC had just gotten so dang slow and I actually tried it as an experiment to see if it would run faster and stop frequent LMS lockups. It does seem faster and less likely to lock up (probably the HTPC is running too many tasks). I now have disabled LMS at daily startup of the HTPC so it isn't even running anymore, and I can get my Squeezeboxen running fine off of the newer computer. But every 30 seconds or so, the Controller and any running instances of Squeezeplay throughout the house go to a constant "Connecting to HTPC" screen (LMS isn't even running on the HTPC). I'm sure it's probably a simple fix somewhere in the settings to stop this, but I can't seem to figure it out to stop it. Any ideas? [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Are There Really Daily SBServer Updates?!
Every day when I log into my HTPC for the past couple of months, I get a popup message stating that there is a "new version" of SBServer and that I should upgrade. I have been upgrading almost daily, but I am beginning to wonder if something is wrong. Are there really almost daily SBServer upgrades?! Or is my installation not actually upgrading each time? I love that the SBServer is still getting upgraded regularly, but doing this every day .. having to stop SBServer when I am using it and wait several minutes for a daily upgrade is getting tiresome. Once a month is fine with me, as long as it is not a critical update.
