I use Simple Library Views so my partner can easily see her preferred
tastes in the whole library, which is otherwise somewhat dominated by my
taste (which in my view is excellent, though this is disputed by most
people ;) ).
It's pretty easy to navigate through the library pasting the file into
the required folders and it didn't take too long.

You add a simple named file with no extension to your album folders, one
file for every library you wish an album to appear in, once scanned you
can use it a bit like "Library Views".

I don't use it myself because of the scanning on server startup, 5 years
ago this was a problem for me, probably wouldn't be these days with SSD
drives etc..

It really seems that the plugin "Simple Library Views" was the culprit.

I removed it and no more rescans.

I do use OMLI, but AFAIK the scan is for all changed files. Like I say,
I'm not at all bothered by the start-up scan, just noting it happens to
me too!
Kidstypike suggests the Simple Library View may be responsible, and I do
use that plugin.

I seem to remember that the plugin "Simple Library Views" initiates a
rescan at every server restart. There could be others - "Lazy Search"?

Fwiw, there's a brief discussion about getting pCP to automatically
rescan on start-up (and, presumably, restart), back in 2016 on the
"Linux / Unix" board here:

https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?106362-PicorePlayer-LMS-auto-scan

I don't use piCorePlayer, so may be way off-beam — just posting about it
in case it's tangentially helpful in diagnosing whatever the current
problem is.

Duet x 3, via various hi-fi. LMS on Raspberry Pi OS (Debian 10) on a
Pi4.

Do you have the Online Music Library Integration plugin active and
configured? That would trigger an (online music only) scan whenever
something changes in your Spotify collection.

I'm also seeing this scanning behaviour. My LMS (I have three, running
on piCorePlayer) always do rescans when the LMS starts or restarts. I am
not sure when this behaviour began, I'm certain it hasn't always done
this, and I don't have automatic library scanning set up. I'm using

On the other hand, the rescan doesn't seem to disturb normal function of
the server, so it hasn't really bothered me too much.
