As I indicated in an earlier reply in this thread, I updated Flash from
10.1 r53 to 10.1 r82 on 15 Aug (9 days ago).

To do that, I went to the Adobe download site, used SeaMonkey to
download install_flash_player.exe, terminated SeaMonkey, and installed
the new version. There was NO extension, NO involvement by SeaMonkey
during the execution of install_flash_player.exe, and NO problem.

Then, on 22 Aug (only 2 days ago), I again used SeaMonkey to download
install_flash_player.exe from the Adobe download site. Using both MD5
and SHA1 hashes, I determined that this newly downloaded file was
identical to the file I archived after my 15 Aug installation.

If you failed to read my prior reply that described this, then you are
the one who is ignorant.

This is where I obtained the latest version from...

Well, I don't know where or why you are getting an extension.

Using SeaMonkey, I went to and
downloaded install_flash_player.exe. I then terminated SeaMonkey and
disabled my Internet connection. When I double-clicked on
install_flash_player.exe, Flash 10.1 r82 was installed on my C-drive at
[c:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash]. After re-enabling my Internet
connection, a test at was
successful.

There was no extension and no Adobe DLM.

My configuration is (in part):

Windows XP Home Edition Version 5.1 (service pack 3)

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.11)
Gecko/20100701 SeaMonkey/2.0.6

Can an Address Book Folder be Set BCC Always?

2010-08-24 Thread d...@kd4e.com

I recently mistakenly sent non-BCC E-mail to a long list in
a sub-folder of my Address Book.

Is it possible to set a sub-folder in Address Book so it may
only be used in BCC mode?

If not can that be added as a feature?

I cannot be the only one who'd like it.

FWIW, my experience is similar to David's. I went to the Adobe website
and downloaded the installer, which I then ran without SeaMonkey even
open. It worked fine on the first attempt.

Of course, they do "recommend" that instead of saving the installer, you
just click "run." I didn't do that, and it didn't hurt me none.

Get your terminology straight. Flash is a plugin not an extension. It
doesn't even reside in the SeaMonkey directory or in your profile.

The terminology IS correct. The Adobe site wants to install an extension
called the Adobe DLM. If it works the way the ActiveX component on
Explorer works, once the extension is installed, then IT downloads the
plugin. I don't want or need the bloody extension, I just want the
plugin. I don't need an extension to install the plugin for me. I just

SeaMonkey used to work -- "my way" ;)

2010-08-24 Thread Richard Owlett

Current environment: WinXP Pro SP3 and SeaMonkey 2.0.5
Former environment: WinXP Pro SP2 and SeaMonkey ?

I used to be able to specify target of shortcut using the form
  "C:\Program Files\SeaMonkey\seamonkey.exe" -p -m *IIRC*
to force SeaMonkey to offer me choice of profiles and then bring
up email

*OR*

  "C:\Program Files\SeaMonkey\seamonkey.exe" -p -b *IIRC*
to force SeaMonkey to offer me choice of profiles and then bring
up browser

NOW, no matter what, I get
  Choice of profiles -- good
  *ALWAYS* Browser -- *NOT* good

Found no germane "help" using F1

Purpose(s) of post:
1. How should I specify target to get desired result?
2. What keyword(s) should I've used to search "HELP"?
3. I've a problem that I believe too vague to write a decent "bug
report". Authoring a "Help System" is more art than science.

If none says there is problem - how will it be solved?
My generation said "If you are not part of solution, you are part
of the problem".

Very interesting... I pulled the url I posted from a link on a different
site and with your post I note that it resolved to the same url you posted.

...We are unable to find iTunes on your computer <<

However, when I go to that page using either url, I get the full page of
information for the Sketchbook app followed by the "itms" error.

I think the difference is that my wife has an itunes account which I
have accessed on this computer, so I am assuming that a cookie
associated with that login is why I can get to that page while you can't.

More interesting, I just logged in to that account, then went to the url
and got the page without the error message.

Thanks for the feedback... very informative. I will report back if I
learn more.

I didn't read all comments, but I think that this is a request to add
native PGP functionality to Mozilla/Thunderbird(/Seamonkey). As said the
combination Enigmail (v1.0.1) and OpenPGP just works. As I recall it
wasn't that hard to install. For OpenPGP I use the GNU version gpg4win
