In case anybody else has saved a copy, the Mostly Crystal theme works

Nice to hear that.
I even saved her extensive list of user customizations, not that there was much
that needed customizing. Anyway, userChrome.js has been de-emphasized by
Mozilla which is understandable (you have to create it yourself now).

I only had to update install.rdf.

I think I set max version once and for good, to 2.99.* or so. :-)
That was a smart move. Now you've got 53 more upgrades plus several hundred
betas before you have anything to worry about. Why didn't I think of that.

JMO of course, but I've always considered Mostly Crystal to be THE best of
the "traditional GUI" themes for SeaMonkey,

+1!

Sorry, I don't do coding.

The woman who created it, whose screen name I've forgotten but who used
to post on this board, got a little frustrated with Mozilla and closed
it down. It would be great if someone devised a way, with her assent, to
keep it current and make it an ongoing offering (or the default theme)
for this browser

"CatThief" according to the addon manager. Alas the site (tom-cat.com) has
been discontinued. The last time I visited it (a few years ago) it said
the theme was *not* publicly licensed. I guess we're not even entitled to
edit install.rdf in theory...

Yes, CatThief. I knew it wasn't CatWoman, she has a different gig.

Also not Cat Mother of Cat Mother and the All-night News Boys, a late
sixties NYC phenomenon on WBAI, still hanging on by their claws on YouTube.

Complete themes are hard to come by in SeaMonkey - there is a lot of
time-consuming work involved, and in a situation where it's all done by
volunteers, robust options for the GUI are always going to be a problem.
Having access to work at this level, if indeed that is the case, would
be a gift.

Profile: Once you try using 2.46, you might not be able to use your
profile when you revert to 2.40. Restore your profile from the last
backup prior to installing 2.46. You do have a backup, do you not?

Block automatic updates:

1. On the SeaMonkey menu bar, select [Edit > Preferences].

2. On the left side of the Preferences window (under Category), select
[Advanced > Software Installation].

3. On the Software Inatallation pane under SeaMonkey, select or clear
the checkboxes as you wish.

4. Select the OK button.

2016-12-27 Thread Frank-Rainer Grahl
The previous script swallowed entries or just ended the search with an
exception. There were also some errors in the script which just resulted in
nothing displayed in e.g. under storage. It now tries to map them to the
correct domain and when it fails displays them under the global * domain. It
doesn't help that some databases use principals some contain hosts and some
just string which you know what. This likely takes more time and might need
some further optimizations for profiles with many items.

But I would still check the data. I bet there is so much junk in it. I just
looked at mine which weren't so old (2.26 or so) and just started over.

I used SQLiteStudio when fixing up the Data Manager: http://sqlitestudio.pl/

The data manager script or the database? "swallowed" entries? Not sure

Data manager showed all my entries before update from 2.40. Database
always has had a lot of entries, my profile is from the 90's originally

To be honest: as no one reported similar problems, it is very likely
that you either have incompatible addons installed (tried safe mode with
all addons disabled?) or something in your profile is broken (tried
temporarily a new profile?).

Actually that's not true. Read above - those issues are known.
Regarding the data manager is that seems to be an issue for large old
profiles and it just temporarily locks up then is fine.
I fixed mine by going though and getting rid of a ton of old legacy
entries going back to Netscape 3.x that I didn't need. Now it works fine.

You can also use the old password UI

to removed old saved passwords, but it would be nice to be able to sort

The source might need some fine tuning. Maybe someone can check the row counts
in the content-prefs and permissions DB when it does this.

Data Manager does read all of them during start. In at least the 2.39 and 2.40
versions it might have crapped out because of errors early.

Same issue here.
It locks up for a bit with a "not responding", but eventually recovers and
then works fine.

Hello

I downloaded ""Mostly Crystal - Firefox Theme" from , and
"license.txt" tells:

theme name: Mostly Crystal
developer: CatThief - tom-cat.com/mozilla
contributor: Everaldo - everaldo.com (Crystal SVG icons)

Mostly Crystal is a theme for Mozilla Firefox "mostly" from the Crystal
SVG (for Linux) icon set designed by Everaldo and includes images
reproduced in their original form plus customized composites of the
originals.

This theme is for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X systems only.

Permission was granted by Everaldo to use these icons in their original
form, and every effort was made during the creation of customized
composites of the original images to keep this theme true to "Linux KDE
Crystal" appearance.

The theme's code base is open source (licensing information is contained
in the boilerplate text at the head of each file) and there is nothing
to prevent anyone from using it as a model for their own theme; however,
this theme may not be modified and/or re-released at any time as long as
it remains active by its developer. If the developer ceases active
involvement with this theme (no longer available at CatThief's web site
and it ceases to work with current Final Release versions of Firefox for
a period of at least 6 months), the project may be resumed by another
individual as long as proper attribution to the theme's original
developer, "CatThief", the theme's original title, "Mostly Crystal", as
well as all contributors is included.

Details on MPL/LPGL/GPL licensing can be found at:
http://www.mozilla.org/MPL

Mostly Crystal was developed for Firefox 2.0 Final Release including all
sub versions (2.0.x) and is not compatible with versions prior to 2.0.

If this theme breaks on a nightly build, support will not be provided
for problems.

By using this theme you assume full responsibility for any damage to
your computer or your installation of any Firefox program file(s) or
component(s).

Nice to hear that.

I only had to update install.rdf.

I think I set max version once and for good, to 2.99.* or so. :-)

JMO of course, but I've always considered Mostly Crystal to be THE best of
the "traditional GUI" themes for SeaMonkey,

+1!
