So...
to reply here i have to open browser, go to groups.google.com, log in, browse
right here and publish something (like right now).
If in "mail and group" i try to reply to news.mozilla.org, i am getting message
"this account support only mails. Going ahead groups will be ignored".
clicking "OK" and he message is not sent "no destination specified".
I guess something is set wrong or i did not understand something.
Outging sever is smtp all all is fine since years since more than 20 years with
it and mails.
I try groups recently (less than on year)and never successed to reply directly
from "mails and groups"

Do not know. Actuality it works for me so no need to remove (removing will
probably result in loosing some stored information)
Starting yesterday, after one "long tie to wait" - more than 10 minute! -to
Seamonkey appear, i find in defender the possibility to deactivate it for some
process (firewall exception): i add Seamonkey to exception. Wait and see if it
cure this problem.

I have a look to this file in my profile: it is actually 58 MB; located on a
network drive ans all seems working well. So size should be not the only
problem, your wife profile file was probably corrupted.
By the way, i suspect antivirus and/or firewall to analyze it intensively: this
can lead ti previous problem (45 second delay)
I notice that from time to time (say once a week) Seamonkey (since win 10,
never occur with win 7) takes more than 5 minutes to open... (running in
application manager but no window appear, have to wait. In large majority of
time, it open relatively quickly for a profile located on network drive (about
4 or 5 seconds)

Small problem with mails / 2.53.1

2020-04-11 Thread jcteyssier1
Hello group,

since switch from 2.149.5 to 2.53.1 official, i have a strange behavior in
mails.
Clicking on a folder (say inbox) does not show the folder content: i have first
to click on mail account (say: mymailmyprovider.com) then on folder to see
it.
My profile is on on NAS so i accessed it from two computers (not
simultaneously, of course)
I have 3 mail account and follows news.mozzila.org / m.s.seamonkey two.
All same problem.

What i can say (and suspect this is the root cause) is :
Before switching from 2.49.25 to 2.53.1 on computer "A", i made a copy of my
profile on NAS.
Then i remove 2.49.5, install 2.53.1 and point at NAS profile(editing
profiles.ini with text editor).
I think the problem starts when i open computer "B" and forget to migrate from
2.49.5 to 2.53.1: i open Seamonkey and i get the message of profile migration.
Returning on computer "A " is OK. Since this; i have both computers with
Seamonkey 2.53.1 so this specific problem will not occur any more.
But now i still have the strange behavior described a begin of this message.

Does any one knows how to fix it? I do not want restore from my copy of 2.49.5
profile because i will lost emails from this date, new bookmarks and new
passwords stored.

I agree.
My company uses Kapersky as antivirus and 99% of software (not virus) stopping
working as it should is caused by this Kaper...
Each time, IT team start to say "No, Kapersky is not the problem"; they try
software to work; does not success (well, 1% they success). Finally they stop
Kapersky... and 98% sucess. Last 1% stopping Kapersky is not enought: have to
REMOVE it.

Have such kind of problem yesterday.
I have an outlook webmail account from my company?
Message after account/passwd provided:
"the custom error module does not recognize this error."
and no way to go ahead.
I try deleting cookies from microsoft: no difference.
I delete all datas stored from microsoft: no difference.
A new profile works well...
Finally i find an enter stored with a name unrelated (well, normal person can
not knows it is reated to this) to outlook or microsoft: seraching for the
account name i find two entries and delete them: bingo now it works.
What i guess:
Oulook strts from some weeks asking "do you want to stay logged in" and i
always answer "No"
A mark is here to instrcut "do not ask me anymore" but checked or nor brings to
same behavior: i have always this question.
Tired to answer "No", i try "Yes" on wedneday; on thursday it was broken
withnthe silly message "the custom error module does not recognize this error"
I higly suspect this is related.

One of my mail account was suddenly telling the password was wrong last week.
After waiting some days to see if it will be corrected on provider's side
(nothing change on my side; sometimes it occurs... and is corrected a pair of
hour later)

I connect with web interface to my mail and i was warned to change my
password: provider's security have changed (without notice! i blame them for
this; they can change but will have to notice users BEFORE) and the password
have to be longer, with letters, numbers, non alphanumeric characters (but
strangely, a very few is allowed: > is, < is not :D) my old one (since
years... was "only" six letters.

Works perfectly now.
