I shut them both down at night to conserve power and avoid the annoying LED lights flashing all the time. My main unit is turned on in the morning and off at night; the second only turned on when I have occasion to use it and then off at night. Re: safe mode
1. In SeaMonkey, have a look at Tools-Switch Profiles. Are there more profiles there than you would expect?? If so, select each profile in turn to see if they contain your missing stuff. If not, then, 2. Have a look at Local directory setting of the Server Settings for your e-mail account, note this location. Completely close SeaMonkey and use the Windows Find Folders and File function to search for Inbox (without the inverted commas). If any are found, are they at the location shown in the Local directory or elsewhere?? Report back with results! Hey, Daniel! I only showed one profile. However, following your second suggestion I was delighted to come up with 89 items on a search. I managed to find the one relating to what I think is the file in question and under profile I found a file 2qatbdob.default. Within that file were four for my pop files. They were numbered 1 through 4. #4 was dated this past Wednesday when this mess started. I checked its properties and it showed a little over 3MB in size. Checking #2, dated last year had a size over 200MB. So! If I go the #2 and check properties it says I can restore a previous version. But #2 isn't currently running. How do I transfer the data or tell my pc to use the earlier profile that didn't show up on Tools-Switch Profiles check? On the bright side I raked up 61 bags of leaves today. Last night I was downloading info from Google. At the end of my session I went to check the weather forecast (my home page on Sea Monkey) and was greeted with Sea Monkey starting in safe mode. Realizing that something was amiss I ran Malwarebytes that discovered 10 suspicious items. I had the program delete the suspect items and re-started my computer when prompted. At that point I ran Sea Monkey and it started in normal mode but with default settings. I set my preferences and shut down. This morning I went to check e-mail and discovered that my internet mail connection was gone. I used the wizard to set up the connection but all my sub-files are gone and the e-mails stored there. The issue is that I have a few pop3 accounts and I was able to copy the appropriate files containing the email messages back into the main default mail profile folder and tell Seamonkey which file to use within that folder such as verizon-2.net, verizon-3.net, etc. I have a little bit of work to do but it is definitely fixable. I cannot thank you enough. Safe Mode/Email Deleted/Am I Up a Creek Without a Paddle
I think the subject of my message summarizes my issue. First, let me say that I am in no way mad at Mozilla and this was my fault for not properly researching the consequences of going into safe mode and resetting preferences. The problem is that I did not know that my emails and mail account settings would be wiped, which is what has happened. As I have not backed up emails does this mean there is no way at all to revert back to the way Seamonkey was before the safe mode boot? In either case, place your cursor over the icon and right-click. From the pull-down context menu, select Properties. On the Properties window, select the Shortcut tab. Many thanks. That did it. 2.2 was installed automagically and that's when safe-mode was added. [Seamonkey 2.1b2pre][Linux 32] -safe-mode and extensions/personal configuration
Hi, I have a trouble with Seamonkey 2.1b2pre, without -safe-mode I have no url bar! I tried French and US builds, I've tried to inactivate extensions, I tried to totally deactivate extensions and local configuration (renamed chrome and extensions directories and create empty ones). What can I do to use Seamonkey 2.1b2pre without safe mode? Probably fallout from them supporting FF4's add-on bar (which SM doesn't have). From past experience I'd guess that it won't be fixed unless some SM developer provides the fix. Last time I did. I hope this time someone else jumps in or at least files a bug against Firebug. No idea but if it takes booting to safe-mode in order to start SM then you may have to take a look at themes, extensions AND plugins.
