If so, did you verify that in your account settings, under Server
settings, that you specified the correct option for how to handle a
deleted message. I think you want Move it to the Trash folder.

 Hi Mark

I have dragged it, deleted it, even copied to and nothing shows up
in either trash nor junk, yet in my other 2 email accounts I have no
problem. I have it on default, the block for delete on exit is not
checked nor in mail and newsgroups is it set up to delete. That is
 why I am lost. Thanks

Then I wonder if the Trash mailbox or its index file is corrupted.
If it were me, I would try emptying the trash, then compacting the
mailbox. If that didn't work, I would try shutting down SeaMonkey,
and while it's down, remove the Trash.msf file.

Good luck.

Items put in Trash just disappear

2009-11-17 Thread Lee
I have posted prior about this but here I go again. If I put an item in the
Junk or Trash file it just disappears. I have checked all setting but to no
avail I have even made a garbage file and that did the same thing. While
I don't have to open and delete files it sort of ticks me off. However if I
put an unread message in there it stays until I delete it. Now on my wifes
account there is no problem it is there until I manually delete it. Just
put this up to see if I am the only one having this problem. Even on my
other accounts there is no problem. Any tips?

This has me befuddled!

Did you check the View settings, while the Junk and/or Trash
folders are OPEN, to see if SHOW ALL messages is checked? Someone
suggested this before, but I didn't see your reply.

I have checked the settings for these two Trash and Junk and set
them the same as in the other email set ups but nothing works,
have even uninstalled SeaMonkey and then shut down and re
installed. Still no files stay in Trash or Junk but only for my
primary mail address. BTW I use Vista. Has gotten me perplexed
but then I am no pro. Funny my Gmail account works great as does
my yahoo account. No problems with them just my bellsouth acct.
