Seems like there are a number of sites where they tell me I need
JavaScript enabled. I check Preferences/Advanced/Scripts and Plugins
and it is enabled.

For example, at the very bottom of this page:
http://www.capecodfactoryoutlet.com/index.php/store-directory

Do you have an extension which could be additionally blocking
scripts,
like NoScript [1] and/or Adblock Plus [2]? Start in safe mode to see
whether it is the case.

I do have Noscript which I just installed a week ago.

Did you try running in safe mode [1], that is with all extensions
been disabled, or just disable the NoScript extension temporarily to
see if the problem persists? If there's no problem then check your
NoScript extension settings (sorry, haven't used it so couldn't
guess more).

That particular piece of JavaScript attempts to hide the contact email
address ( ccfom1 @ aol.com ) from spambots. You can see the script if
you View Source of the page. The site is created with the Joomla CMS.

Do you have any other browsers installed that you could test this page
with? What version of SeaMonkey? It works for me as expected in all my
browsers.

I tried the site with JavaScript both enabled and disabled. In the
latter case, I don't see any message about needing JavaScript.

There were some slight differences. For example, with JavaScript
enabled, selecting either the E-mail or print icons on the page launched
a new tab; with it disabled, the E-mail and print pages replaced the
Directory page.

Is it possible you have an extension that requires JavaScript? I know
that FlashBlock requires it. (But there is no Flash on your cited page.)
