In theory, yes. But there can be posts after I kill a thread -- should

Or just not count killed threads in the total counts. I'm not sure it makes
sense to mark messages read automatically. Threads can be unkilled and all
the messages would be marked as read even though they were never seen.

Do you use "Ignore subthread" functionality?

There is a known bug, where threads with ignored subthreads will show

Not normally, but I may have tried it with that thread.

How is this "ignore" feature removed? I tried viewing "Ignored threads" and
undoing the ignore, but I don't know if that would work for sub-threads.

AFAIK the SeaMonkey support newsgroup is not moderated. Only Firefox and
Thunderbird are the moderated support newsgroups.

Some mozilla.dev groups may be moderated.

I usually unsubscribe from a newsgroup that shows that behavior,
then I subscribe to it again and all is well.

Yeah, that fixed the problem, but all info about what I've read and
not read is gone. Oh well, it wasn't all that busy of a group.

Thanks

That's the situation I am discussing in my thread "Re-ordering the
