Can someone please explain to me how the email that belongs to Keith be hijacked like this? I don't know enough about email to understand how a name registered to someone can be used. Marilyn et al, Managing list servs is one of the things I go for a living; it's a constant battle against spammers. If you want your list to reasonably open and usable, you run the risk of this kind of thing once in a while. If you really tighten the list down, you can make it go away (mostly) but using the list becomes so cumbersome that your readers may go away too because of the hassle. You wouldn't believe the amount of time we spend just responding to attacks. I noticed that keith, spelled with a small "k" is different from Keith, spelled with a capital "K" .. Sorry, can't explain what, why, or how .. just know that it is .. and I don't open. .. also, Keith rarely sends out subjects such as view Paris Hilton free. .. yup, the first one did catch me .. but I didn't open the attachment .. scratched my head and then deleted. I'm on many lists .. and these crop up on every single one .. some more than others, no matter how hard the monitors try. I won't give up the information available just because of some occasional "dangerous" junk. That's what the delete button is for. .. plus, I try to keep my "virus" program updated. PS In case your mail has the same problem, the full fraudulent email address I sent did not show when I received the email I just sent, only the word Keith. When I hit Reply it did show up as the full address ([EMAIL PROTECTED]). So here it is again.
