I would be happy to post my answers to the list. Disclaimer, I don't
pretend to know everything about the software, but I'll do my best. I
think the home edition is 99 dollars. That said, if you can somehow
afford the pro edition, I would go for it as you can make custom scripts
and macros with. Ok, I think that's cool, that's just me. What questions
do you have, if you really don't feel comfortable talking to a whole
list, that's fine too it doesn't matter to me.

RE: which version of windows should I get

2015-03-01 Thread Jim Grimsby Jr. via Talk
Hello,
yes this is true, all Windows 7 users will be able to upgrade to Windows 10
free of charge. That being said, the idea that you should get Windows 7
just because the you think it will be easier to navigate is completely not
true. As I have said on this subject. A number of times you can get
programs which resolve this issue if it is a problem for you. The best
program to get to resolve these navigation issues is classic Shell. This
will allow you to have a windows XP style start menu or a Windows 7 style
start menu, and it will allow you to take advantage of all the new features
of Windows 8.1. If you get a program called old new Explorer. It will
allow you to turn off the ribbon and to make a number of tweaks to the
Windows Explorer that will make it look and feel like the Windows 7 Windows
Explorer. Thus you will have all of the new features of Windows Explorer,
and the interface you are familiar with and comfortable with. You will also
be able to take advantage of Windows universal apps. One good example of
this is Facebook, which is completely accessible. You will also have
greater stability, greater security better built-in text-to-speech and a
number of other features. The new user interface should not be a deterrent,
because as I said these issues are quite easy to resolve if necessary.
I hope this helps, and think you for reading.

My opinion If you are use to XP, you might want to get Windows 7 if you
can find it. It is easier to navigate than Win 8.1. And it is my
understanding that all Wind 7 and Win 8.1 owners will get a free upgrade to
Win 10 within the first year. There will be support for Win 7 through 2020.

RE: test message using Dragon naturally speaking with window eyes

2015-03-01 Thread Jim Grimsby Jr. via Talk
Hello,
I agree that Window-Eyes should have better support for Dragon
NaturallySpeaking. That being said, I do use it on a daily basis with all
of my screen readers with no add-ons such as J say quite successfully. It
surprises me. However, that Window-Eyes does not support Dragon
NaturallySpeaking better than it does considering the fact that back in the
dust days vocal-eyes was the only screenreader I knew of that had full
support for DragonDictate
it should also be noted here that there is an app available for Window-Eyes
for use with Windows speech recognition created by Chip orange
I hope this helps. Thank you for reading.

Thunderbird Problem

2015-03-01 Thread robert martin via Talk
Good Morning, When typing a message in Thunderbird it appears to
put a word on each line so that to read the message I have to cursor

some button somewhere that has created this problem. It seems to me
that I've had this problem at least once before when I first started
using Thunderbird but I can't remember the solution. Thanks in advance

Also, I have Eloquence on my machine as a result of having another screen

There should be a way to get WindowEyes to recognize my existing copy me

More Complex Thunderbird Problem

2015-03-01 Thread Robert Martin via Talk
Hi,

In the process of trying to resolve the problem mentioned earlier this
morning regarding a single word per line in messages as I write them,
I have now thoroughly messed up everything related to sending mail.
When writing a message in Thunderbird I can now hear nothing in any of
the fields. I can read messages from others just fine. Theproblem is
in the fields where I'm trying to write and send. I'm guessing I've
turned something on or off that is obscuring things. I looked for
relevant information in the knowledge base but found nothing although
I could have missed it in my frustration. I thought perhaps there was
some way to reset thunderbird to the relevant settings but I can find
nothing. Any advice will be appreciated.

Re: trying to install voices

2015-03-01 Thread Peter Russillo via Talk
Hi Chris, Michael Russillo here; when I purchased the Vocalizer Expressive
voice online yesterday, I put in my unique serial number in the box that
asks for it. I didn't receive any additional file by email perhaps because
I already have the serial number I got last Monday when I contacted Support
to get my unique serial number; I downloaded the Synth auth file from the
page for the Vocalizer voice; then ran the file, no problem; then downloaded
and installed the Vocalizer Expressive Tom Premium file; then went to WE
Control Panel under Devices, went to Synthesizers and found the Vocalizer
Expressive American English Tom in the voice listview; tabbed to Activate
and pressed that button but got the message asking if I want to learn about
voices available for purchase; hit No as I already purchased Vocalizer; the
Vocalizer won't activate. Even if I have a unique serial number already, do
I need to get yet another number for setting up Vocalizer? Please let me
know any step I may have missed; thanks.

Also, make sure if you were sent a Window-eyes authorization file in email
to download and install that as well.

If this is an office install, your serial number in help/about should have
your unique serial number that starts with PF.

It should not be the standard GWWEOffice serial number.
Thanks,

Hello. What you need to do is
1. press control back slash to enter the window-eyes control panel.
2. press V, until you hear verbosity.
3. press o until you get to office. Then, you want to hit the right arrow to
open that section of the treview.
4. press w, until you get to word.. 5. Hit right arrow. This will open the
treview for word.
5. press m, until you hear misolainious. Then, press the tab key. There are
two checkboxes you want to uncheck. One is called autocorrect, and then the
other one is speak smart tags. Uncheck both, and then hit control s to save
your settings. At that point, you should be able to use ms word normally.
I hope this helps, Sky

  High Everybody,
This is a test message to see how would window eyes will work with Dragon
Naturally Speaking home edition.
I am doing this all by dictation.
When I am done dictating I would tell Dragon to press the F7 key. To see if
there were any spelling mistakes!
Window eyes at this moment is not reading back to me what I am dictating!
It is spelling everything back to me!
If somebody knows how to correct this, by making window eyes read back in
words I would appreciate that!
Well I guess that's it for now!
I will run spell-check next.
The spell check found three misspelled words! And there was a few mistakes
because of the way I said things.
Talk to you all later!

Hello,
I agree that Window-Eyes should have better support for Dragon
NaturallySpeaking. That being said, I do use it on a daily basis with all
of my screen readers with no add-ons such as J say quite successfully. It
surprises me. However, that Window-Eyes does not support Dragon
NaturallySpeaking better than it does considering the fact that back in the
dust days vocal-eyes was the only screenreader I knew of that had full
support for DragonDictate
it should also be noted here that there is an app available for Window-Eyes
for use with Windows speech recognition created by Chip orange
I hope this helps. Thank you for reading.

Hello. This is something that Window-eyes should really support. I think AI
really needs to get Caketalking, and jay say, etc to be compatible with
Window-Eyes as well as JAWS is losing marketshare
