Re: [OSM-talk] Revert of changeset
It appears that User:grossing ( http://www.openstreetmap.org/user/grossing/edits) sporadically removes TIGER node duplicates throughout the US. I thought we had decided *not* to do this without careful inspection? Can someone with better German than I try to explain to him why what he's doing is a bad thing? [OSM-talk] Revert of changeset
Hello, Could somebody please revert changeset #4845372 or point out how I can do it? Since one week I have been finding countless errors coming from it. To show a few examples: * linking a road and a railway at http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/node/62417120 when there actually is a bridge * removing nodes from road, actually truncating the road: http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/8733179 * connecting river and roads when there are bridges/tunnels * ... I contacted the user but did not hear back from them so far. Thanks, N. ___ talk mailing list talk@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk
[OSM-talk] coastline error checker
I've the impression that the coastline error checker is not working at the moment (last updated: 14th of April); coastline changes I've made some weeks ago in northern Brazil have not yet been applied to the openstreetmap.org mapnik layer. Is there anything one can do? Thanks, Ulf -- Ulf Mehlig -- ___ talk mailing list talk@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk

I am also thinking of staying a couple of days after SOTM, was thinking about Barcelona mainly, but Orlot looks looks interesting too. However, I see the words, "volcanic landscape" and "bike rental" and match these with Spain in July and think that I'd rather be on a bus than cycling up a volcano for half a day in reasonably warm weather :) Cycling down the mountain is another matter! Re: [OSM-talk] Fwd: OpenStreetMap featured on Ushahidi/Uchaguzi site
Thanks, I'm sending Jessica an email "Hard to know where to start. One big issue with election monitoring is polling place locations, and those are not always easy to come by. Here in Kenya, NDI is having a hell of a time pulling those together. This is the kind of work the OSM community specializes in ... identifying data sets, working on getting data released, importing it into OSM, doing custom data feeds and rendering as needed; or if the data can't be released from official sources, just doing it anyway! Almost every country in the world has an OSM community, and connected directly with them to update the map is a great idea. Trainings/mapping parties can be organized with communities interested in collecting more data. On the Ushahidi side, OSM is an option, but not the default. I think it would be great to see some guidance on how to choose a base map layer ... how to compare the current covereage, and how to judge if organizing to improve OSM would be a good idea. I know Melissa Tully has just completed and published various guides, perhaps one on mapping would be interesting to collaborate on." == Mikel Maron == +254(0)724899738 @mikel s:mikelmaron http://mapkibera.org/ http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/Haiti From: SteveC To: "talk@openstreetmap.org" Sent: Fri, June 4, 2010 2:09:48 PM Subject: [OSM-talk] Fwd: OpenStreetMap featured on Ushahidi/Uchaguzi site Anyone help? On my blog there are also the slides of a talk [2] about the archeo-action on OSM gave during the first OSM Italian meeting "OSMit 2009". I must also note that during the latest ArcheoFOSS meeting in Italy, Denis Francisci has proposed a separate OSM rendering system for historic Roman features [3],[4]. Sorry for Italian-speaking-only links, but all the documents were intended for "national" consuming ;) It's a pity, I would attend to THATCamp, but now I don't have so much time...
