INBOX isn't subscribed. However INBOX is a required box according to
the RFCS (it's a special folder, you cannot delete/rename/create it).
The CREATE item up there is... unusual to say the least, you should
have an error line somewhere too. I'm wondering if TB is having issues

Then login to TB, go to the folder management, and hit refresh.

Suddenly, INBOX is expandable! I now have all my subscribed folders in The
 Bat.

So subscribing to INBOX 'fixed' the issue? Chances are this might be
related to a bug that was posted a while ago, and Stefan fixed it in a
way that was technically not correct to the RFCs, he might have
corrected it properly, and you ended up with the result you have. We
might need to wait for Stefan to pipe up on this bit. The older issue
was that INBOX wasn't selectable (after Stefan fixed the \NoSelect
issue) as the INBOX wasn't subscribed. Some IMAP servers make an
unsubscribed folder unselectable, which was the original case.

As a silly question, are you looking at the All Mailboxes tab, or
the Subscribed Only tab in the IMAP Folder Management window?

 Now, a couple of questions:

 1. Do you have to be subscribed to a folder in order to display it
 in The Bat?

Yes, TB only displays subscribed folders.

 2. I subscribed to these folders using Mulberry. If I hadn't done
so, how would they have gotten subscribed? How would I subscribe to
a folder in The Bat if only subscribed folders are displayed?

Hrm... well all the folders should be listed, TB should be using LIST
to get the list, and you should be able to subscribe/unsubscribe from
the IMAP Folder Management option.

You might want to cheat, and create a second account, as I've found
the Refresh link to be unreliable. I still have a folder in my

I don't think Becky even has the concept of subscribed. It just

So Becky is just using LIST to get the mailbox list.

Mulberry shows INBOX, then a Subscribed folder with all subscribed
folders indented underneath it. Next is INBOX again, with ALL
 folders indented underneath it.

Mulbery is doing it the nicer way... well sort of. INBOX is the parent
based on the hierachy/delimiter of the folders. So to be nice to you,
it's showing it, and as your IMAP server didn't tell Mulberry that it
wasn't allowed to select it (\NoSelect flag in the LIST results), then
it allowed you to make it selectable too. As for why it shows the
INBOX twice, I couldn't tell you.

So it looks as though The Bat at least knows about my subscribed
folders. Why doesn't it display them for me?

INBOX isn't subscribed. However INBOX is a required box according
to the RFCS (it's a special folder, you cannot delete/rename/create
 it).

So...how does INBOX get subscribed, unless you do it manually via
 telnet?

Usually you shouldn't have to. Normally it's one of those things that
you're normally always subscribed to, but it can be unsubscribed (not
deleted though).

The CREATE item up there is... unusual to say the least,

Is this not being generated by TB? Is it coming from the server?

It's TB if you look at the log lines...

you should have an error line somewhere too.

 Why?

Because no folder was specified. The CREATE requires a folder to be
specified, and one wasn't... it should have at least shown something
in the logs.

I'm wondering if TB is having issues because there is no subscribed
 inbox (see my other email).

It does appear that that was the case.

I'll do some testing tonight to see if I can reproduce it on any of my
servers, then shall submit a bug if it I can reproduce it.

Where can I learn how to interpret a trace file and see a description of
 IMAP syntax?

  http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc3501.html

That'll give you the full syntax for the RFC regarding IMAP.

Re: View Modes, and resizing columns

2003-12-09 Thread NetVicious
martes, 9 dic 2003 at 18:15, it seems you wrote:

The problem is, most of the time, it resizes the subject so I cannot
see most of it, so I have to resize the column.

The problem it's if the folder haves threads, TB! adds a litle to the
column with. I think this it's bad, if I wants 300 pixels for the
subject TB! shouldn't change it, if I don't see all the subject it's
my problem and I will change it.

Example:

One folder without threaded messages (the view it's threaded), the
with of the subject is 180 pixels (little).

Other folder with a lot of threaded messages (TBBETA) the subject has
more than 180 pixels due to the threads.

In result I have configured this threaded view with the correct with
to see TBBETA folder, but the others folders the subject it's very
little.

When I try dragging the column, the thing flickers violently, and
 doesn't allow a resize...

Not confirmed here.

I couldn't change the order of the columns by dragging they.
I could change de with of a colum, but when I change to other folder
and I return to the first TB loads te View Mode colums, so it's ok.
