3.61.14 Watch Failure

2005-10-24 Thread Bill McCarthy
Hello TB Beta List,

With the latest build I can neither add watches or remove
existing watches. My watch folder is not being recognized -
the only choice from Specials is to create a new watch

Hello Bill,

 folder :-(

Yes, there is something wrong with watch folders and I think is is not
new to 3.61.14, but I have not had the time to investigate and report on
BT.

I have found a 'dirty' workaround for the moment:

1.- Add a new watch folder
2.- Exit and restart TB.
3.- You should now be ale to see your existing watch folders including
the just created one.
4.- Delete your last created watch folder and you should still be able
to see your previously existing ones.
5.- I have done several restarts and I can still see the existing watch
folders. I still have to try a reboot and see what happens then.

Wrong subject + organization encoding

2005-10-24 Thread Vili
Hello all,

I have a mail, that has this in the header source:
From: =?windows-1250?Q?K=F6rt=E9si_K=E1roly?= [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Organization: =?windows-1250?Q?=D6nkorm=E1nyzt?=

When I open the mail, header: tb1.jpg
I click on the wrong Subject line, header: tb2.jpg

Bug. I will write a TB!. Maybe it is related to the umlaut problem. Or
is the same?

Hello 9Val,

If you plan to release this, the answer is a defined NO.

Why:

https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=5214
https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=5217
https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=5218

and I just submitted:
https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=5219

(The severity is not crash, sorry, I wanted to set usability. I
made mistakes, too :)))

This 5219 bug is related to:
https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=5198
and
https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=5199
I guess, that declared to be fixed. Obviously, it is not fixed.

These MUST be addressed before a public release. They are VERY obvious
for everybody. You dont want to put something on the shelves that has
this visible issues...

Plus: Old flicker problem back (was: Header problem, v3.60.05)
(search for this subject on the TBBETA list) (ok, we can say it is a
minor...)

Hello Gleason,

I get internal error 2349 when installing. When restarting TB, the
 version number is still 3.61.14.
What does internal error 2349 mean while installing?

This is a Windows Installer (MSI) error.
It means Copy Resumed With Different Info.
It most commonly occurs because the CD is dirty or scratched.
If cleaning the CD does not help you may need to copy the install
onto your hard drive. You can also try turning off virus protection
software while running the install

I would say, try to download it again...

Re[2]: The Bat! 3.62 is now available

2005-10-24 Thread Vili
Hello Melanie and 9Val,

Subject: Re: Preview f=?ISO-8859-1?B?/A==?=r die Reiseseite

As I see, the problem is when after decoding you have some character
left... I mean, MIME coding stores 3 bytes using 4 byte (more details:
http://www.helpdesk.umd.edu/topics/email/protocols/315/ ), in this
case, /A== stores only one.

So, /A== decodes to ( /=63, A=0, = are pads, signals the end of
encoding)

63, 0, that is in binary form:
11 00
that is if we group them as 8bit bytes:
1100
that is in decimal:
252, 0

Character 252 is: ü

I dont know, how the encoding is done in TB!, but if I would do it I
would assign 0 to =, decode that 3 bytes to 4 bytes, and stop
outputing chars to the output string if I find a char 0 amongst
them...

That extra character at the end must come from some predefinition of
the output string length, so put a check after the encoding that runs
through the string and cut the end if the char is 0...

Hmm. I can now confirm it when using Turkish language. But I also
get an error dialog Control '' has no parent window. I get
same errors when I open Smartbat, too.

In English both Smartbat and Scheduler starts fine.

Can't move to a folder by typing its name
When the folder tree is in focus you can move to a folder by typing
its name or the first few letters of it. Well, this does not work in
3.61.14, nothing happens when you start typing. I have just verified
it did work in 3.61.13.
Same thing happens when trying to move a message by Ctrl+V on the
message list. When the 'Move Message(s) to' dialog opens, there is no
response to keyboard strokes. This also worked fine in 3.61.13.

Re: The Bat! 3.62 is now available

2005-10-24 Thread Martin Sebald
Hi Michael and Tony!

Do you like Abba? Remember any of their song titles?
If I'm getting Ritlabs/TheBat! and Abba song titles in connection there
 are two possible matches:
 - Waterloo (just the title, not the lyrics :- )
 - Money, Money, Money

ROFL! I was thinking of both titles the same time. Interesting that I as a
hard rock only fan remember these two ABBA songs. ;-)

And if Ritlabs is going to release *THIS* as a final they're just not
 reliable or trustworthy.
Business decisions and development seem to base on lots of vodka ...
 *really angry*

My opinion. The beta testers are complaining about serious bugs here for
days and weeks now and Ritlabs is going to release a final version again.

Regards,
Martin

Re: PGP-encrypted message containing just url appears empty when decrypted from within TB!

2005-10-24 Thread Mary Bull
Hello MFPA!

On Monday, October 24, 2005, 3:42 PM, you wrote:

Also, my tests may not be relevant enough for me to report them in a
note to 5222. What do you think?

The common factor is that an inline PGP encrypted message
containing just a URL does not decrypt as it should.

I have done some further testing and added a note to
https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=5222

One of the tests, reproducible in 5 tries for me, was:

1) Create a message to myself with nothing but a URL in the body text
2) From the Privacy menu choose Encrypt when vompleted
3) From the Privacy/OpenPGP submenu choose Fncrypt entire text.

Result:

When I received my message, I clicked on the Decrypt button. The
encrypted message remained visible and a Decrypt Tab appeared to the
left of the body text. When I clicked on that, I received a Windows
notification box that said:

No application is associated with the specified file for this
operation.

Since this behavior occurred using beta 3.62, I am CCing this report
to TBBETA.

My supporting note to your BT note at
https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=5222
describes the above behavior.

I cannot reproduce the blank body text, upon decryption, in beta v.
3.62, when I simply check the box Encrypt when completed, using
in-line OpenPGP.

But it is abnormal to get a Decrypt tab that won't function when I add
Encrypt entire text to the mix.

Re: Resurrecting TB! after several days of no use

That's interesting... I was away for a few days last week and had a
great deal of new messages. However, I was up and running in no time
 at all.

I'm just now having problems with that beta.

10 new messages in the Inbox. 95 in TBBETA, 30 in TBOT. Another 20
scattered throughout other folders.

It took 15 seconds for the first Inbox message I selected to load. The
second one took over a minute. This is after initially waiting a while
and then checking the CC to see a lot of stuff still queued and waiting.
I decided to start reading despite this since you had said things were
better.

They aren't in that beta. TB! is still tedious when dealing with a lot
of new mail.

Folder Name Garbage

Hello TB Beta List,

In the message list, I have the Folder as one of my columns.
I've just noticed that this contains useless info.

The attached file shows what I see. The correct folder is
\\Bill\Spam.

Re[4]: Folder settings not saved

2005-10-24 Thread Vili
Hello Tony,

 It contains many corrected issues...
And it also contains many more that haven't and that is exactly the
point. No beta software should be made public until all known bugs
 and issues have been fixed.

I just wanted to counterbalance your overstatement...
