Memory usage - TB vs Thunderbird 17.0
Hi Everyone, I just checked the memory usage of TB with Thunderbird 17.0 in Windows 8. I have used both for my Gmail IMAP account, and I was amazed at the difference! TB only uses 30 MB of memory and Thunderbird uses 144 MB of memory. Very interesting (even if I don't understand where the difference comes from). Ritlabs is doing something very efficiently! Good think is that MM> Windows Exploerer accepts environment variables in the path location, it MM> expands those variables to the physical path where the files are stored. I sent the one from the email folder yesterday, but from using the appdata line in Windows Explorer (thanks for that tip), I have the second version of ex_log.txt attached - it is much smaller (see last paragraph, below). Did you see the note from someone that Kaspersky may in fact have played a role here - it apparently is cautious in allowing a new .exe file to run the first time (and that is when I see the delay when I click on the start menu shortcut). I just now again ran TB's command-line opening as you suggested - the ex_log.txt file is attached. -- Take Care, Bob -- "Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me."
