Hi all,

the GnuPG implementation of The Bat! still doesn't allow
secondary
user IDs.

So I tried to sign my previous message
mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
with GPGshell, and it returned MS type funky wrapping. So I
refrained
from signing it. But I'll do it with this one, so you can see.
TB! is
set to wrap at 70 chars, and I don't find any respective option
(to
turn off) in GPGshell.

Any ideas?

After some time of beta abstinence, 3.5 RC3 was my first serious try,
and I thought, OMG, not this one again... ;-)

So thanks a lot! Now I can go and check the other issues, like GnuPG

Too bad, it still doesn't work for this account, although the address

inline, no MIME... hmm

I'll try it this time with PGP 6.5.8ckt plugin enabled. :-)

which install file do I need for On-the-fly encryption? I have OTFE

Yes, I remember that. I have OTFE installed on my PC, but I don't
remember, nor do i find the install file that I might use for my

Export command in filter actions broken since RC8

2005-05-13 Thread Peter Meyns
Hi all,

I used to submit my spam to SpamCop via a manual filter, which exports
the spam mail from a Common Folder to a text file in UNIX-mailbox
format, overwriting the existing one, and then creates a message to
SpamCop with the mail retrieved from the text file with the %PUT
macro.

This doesn't work any more in RC 8 and 9. Neither is the existing file
overwritten nor a new one created. So the new messages always have the
old contents. Just went back to RC 7 to make sure.

It seems that the filter action "export message to" is broken. Does
anyone else use something similar and can confirm?

No more shortcut for maintenance in folder menu

2005-05-16 Thread Peter Meyns
Hi all,

I used to start the folder maintenance with a PowerPro script using
the keyboard shortcuts provided by The Bat!, so that the keystrokes

  {alt}fa
  pdc
  {enter}

started to remove dupes and purge and compress all folders. This
doesn't work any more, because there isn't a shortcut for Maintenance
in 3.5 final. Is this intentional or has it only been lost? I'd love
to have it back.

Window indices of The Bat! changed and not (yet?) translated

2005-05-16 Thread Peter Meyns
Hi all,

in previous TB! versions I could use the PowerPro command
win.childtextbyindex("The Bat!",3) to distinguish the English from the
German interface. English returned "Account specials" while in German
the page returned "Konto-Sondereinstellungen". In version 3.5 final
the return is "For folder Popup" in both languages. It is also the
same for indices other than 3.

Was it necessary to change these and is this supposed to stay this
way, or is it just the translation lagging behind?

I'd really like to have this distinction. Several of my PPro scripts
rely on it, because the keyboard shortcuts are different in the two
languages.

But where would I do that now? Menu View -- Toolbars -- Customise
let's me assign a shortcut, but that's a global one. I only need it in
the folder menu.

Besides, after assigning one and pressing OK, the View -- Toolbars
menu is shown empty. I used yesterday's backup of the TB! directory to
have the items shown again. It is probably only one file to be deleted
or changed, but I don't know yet which one.

VF and mailticker: again this message from Dec 31, 1899

2005-05-16 Thread Peter Meyns
Hi all,

I have a virtual folder that shows messages from or replied to myself.
Whenever there is a new message and I select the folder, the
mailticker appears with one message dated Dec 31, 1899, size -1b. It
goes away when I leave the VF and go back again. I saw this in
previous versions, so it's not too surprising or annoying for me, but
certainly it isn't right. And it may be confusing to new users... ;-)

It doesn't seem so, just tried it. But clicking OK will remove the

No, I don't think so. There was just the encrypted message with no key
attached, and the sender's key has been in my public keyring for long.
Besides, decrypting depends on *my* key, not the sender's.

The "Decrypt" button just doesn't decrypt, but opens the "save to
file" dialog instead.

When I click the button with version .26 it opens the passphrase
prompt as expected.

No problems with GPGshell to decrypt. And there's no problem verifying
sigs with TB!'s button (yours verified good). It's just decrypting
that doesn't work here from the button.

I found, that it only occurs with inline encrypted mails created with
KMail. Mails created
with The Bat! or Thunderbird open the passphrase prompt as expected. So
it doesn't
seem to be a serious issue.

AV in Network and Administration

2005-06-27 Thread Peter Meyns

Hash: RIPEMD160

Hi all,

I didn't find the time yet to follow all the discussion about the
latest version here or on BT, and I'm not sure if I will, so there is
a good chance that I may have missed this bug being mentioned.

I installed The Bat! freshly on my notebook from the
thebat_pro_3-5-30.msi and restored my backup. Then I updated to
3.5.0.31.

It runs well so far, but one thing annoys me:

in Options -- Network and Administration I cannot change anything (see
attachment). Clicking ok on the AV window leaves the cursor as the
hourglass, but I can click Cancel anyway, and TB! moves on fine.

I hope I'll get to keeping up with the current development. :-)

BTW, GnuPG support hasn't improved. I still can't sign this message
from within The Bat!, but that's worth another thread...

This may be the case. I'm on dial-up via DSL, or, in case I need it,

This doesn't represent an acute problem, because I can establish the

Not here. When the Mail Dispatcher retrieves the headers, the count

us-ascii is perfectly right for you as the default, because that's
what you normally use. If, in replies, you quote other characters, The

Right. It is from October 2004, first on TBUDL,

to use an address book group instead of adding more and more addresses

This happens here on a dial-up connection, when TB! has to establish

I admit, this is not wanted behavior... :-(

After observing this issue a bit closer, I suspect the reason here to

This one won't be MIME signed, but inline using GPGshell, because The

If I understand you right, you want to extract single files from the
MSI file. This is not possible from TB! or Windows alone. I achieve
it, if need be, with Total Commander (http://www.ghisler.com) combined
with the MSI plugin, available on the same site via Addons.

Header name alignment

Hi all,

the header names are now aligned left in the preview pane. It looks
indeed more professional, but it leaves a little twinge. I always

I see the need to adjust to common formats, and I don't object to it.

However, BayesIt still does a lousy job. It hardly ever finds any spam
