Hi Januk,

I have it as a quick template and it works well with my GMX-received

So the exact date/time is given, but the regexp takes Delivery-date

I'm very glad about your concern - thus I can hope for a solution. :o))

possible with a symmetric algorithm as well.

CM Don't do nothing, I just try it first!

Yeah, you took the words right out of my mouth. :-)

For the filter, enable regular expressions in the options and make the
search string:

^\s*Re:?\s+

This will make the filter match messages only with the subject
starting with 'Re', maybe followed by a :, and then followed by a
space. If you simply put 'Re' as the string, it will make unwanted
matches.

Not all e-mail clients use Re for replies and we may have to make
changes for these clients if you come upon their output.

PM So the exact date/time is given, but the regexp takes Delivery-date
PM instead of Date. As I can see from messages to my GMX account, the GMX
PM server doesn't add a Delivery-date ... And it doesn't Envelope-to
PM (whatever again that means...)

%SETPATTREGEXP=(?m-s)^Date\:\s*?((.*?[\d]{4})\s*?([\d]{0,2}\:[\d]{0,2})\s*?(.*))%-
%REGEXPMATCH=%HEADERSGMT (which was %ODateShort, %OTime +0200GMT%-
where I live), %OFROMNAME wrote this about %OSUBJ:

That should tidy it up for you (anchoring the Date with a ^ prefix
to indicate that it should start a line).

I thought you'd create two templates. One for new messages and one for
replies. For the new messages, you could make the macro for the
subject:

%Subject=[flammer]: %OFullSubj

This will output the subject senders subject preceded by '[flammer]: '

For the messages that are replies, you need to use the subject regex
macro that we've created.

CM The filter it is going to is the one with the expression:

CM %subject='[flammer]: Re:%-
CM %setpattregexp=(?i)\A\:?((re)*:?)*\s*(\[.*\]:)?\s*?(.*)%-
CM %RegExpBlindMatch=%OFullSubj%SubPatt=4'

CM in it.

CM Now, how to remove the extra RE?

Would you send a sample subject that I can test. I don't know what is
really happening. If I see the effect, I can more easily fix the
problem.

CM (BTW: Were did you learn this stuff?)

I gathered it over time. I started at about the same time as Januk,
but where I decided to give it a rest because of time, Januk
continued. Though I read multiple sources, I got most of my
information from TB!'s help and from a book called Mastering Regular
Expressions published by O'Reilly.

I did.

Exactly.

ACM For the messages that are replies, you need to use the subject regex

It is done.

Alright:-)

O'Reilly does have good material in fact :-) I'll try to find more of
all this kind. Sounds interesting.
