Just unzip the download into your The Bat! folder, overwriting the
existing thebat.exe file. Start Bat! as usual and 1.46b3 is now
active. If you have registered Bat!, any future 1.x betas will (I
assume) recognize your registration info.

Fixed in 1.46b3. At least, I haven't had any problems.

Just tried. I made a folder about 40 MB big, and TB didn't have
trouble handling it. I tried reading, deleting, compressing,
deleting again, compressing again, and the final size of the .TBB
came down to around 32 MB, still no problem. It slowed down a bit on
my aging 200 Mhz PC, but nothing went wrong.

I'm using a different version of TB on a different OS from yours,
though. Don't know if that matters.

Size limit of MESSAGES.TBB?

2000-08-06 Thread Michael Heydekamp

Hello The Bat! users,

is there a limit (say of approx. 32MB) in the size the file(s)
MESSAGES.TBB may have?

I'm asking because TB! was not able anymore to compress the MESSAGES.TBB
of my TBUDL folder (it simply hang). The file had a size of 32,436,354
bytes. Deleting MESSAGES.tbi didn't help.

I then splitted MESSAGES.TBB in two pieces of more or less equal size
with a hex editor and somehow managed to get access to the most recent
messages again this way, but it was a major hassle.

Hi Pasquale,

ML I guess you mean "read next *unread* message in thread",
ML right (like the "T" key in Agent)? No, there's no such key.
> Yes!

I'm a little confused. You say "yes" here, but according to your
description below it seems to me what you want is a shortcut key to
got to the next message in thread, *regardless whether it's read or
not*! Agent's "T" key would take you to the next *unread* message in
thread. IOW, it would skip read messages. Which way do you want?

> I do now thank you, but I like the message screen full with just

See?

If you do mean the "next message in thread" (regardless read or
unread), then there're a couple of not so elegant workaround:

1. Use Ctrl-Shift-U to mark the whole message as unread before
double-clicking the message (to open the message window).

2. Enable the message list pane in the message window. You may
adjust the pane size to only one (message list) item high, so it
won't take too much screen estate. TB would remember this setting.
The next time you open the message window, the cursor would stay at
the message list pane, with the current message highlighted, so you
may either use Ctrl-plus (the plus sign on the Num-keypad) to expand
the thread, then use the arrow button on the tool bar to navigate.
Or if you are a keyboard person, you may just use the arrow keys to
navigate without expanding it first. (Hint: using the right arrow
key to go down one level.)

I know, I wish TB is as easy to navigate as in Agent, too.

That was a batch file rather than a plug-in. Someone had written a batch
file to backup the registry keys for TB!. It would take a couple more

You don't need to start over again, just hit "Page up". The scrollbar

It does work perfectly !!

Well, this one sometimes didn't work here (Don't ask me why, I just used the
Alternative method).

I've just downloaded it (from both USA site and European site) and
installed it without problem (I installed all the spelling checker,
just to be sure).

I'm almost certain it's not downloaded right, for CRC error means
the integrity of the file is lost.

You're right, but when I wanna install the intpack.exe it comes-up
with the ERROR "CRC error in file LngPack.exe". To me, it looks like a
Windows error. But I'm not sure. Someone have a clue?

I got curious, too. Just looked it up. It's: Turks and Caicos
Islands.

Hmmm, I could find no LngPack.exe on RIT's web site. Where did you
download it? The file for multilingual support (including UI
translation and additional spellchecker) is intpack.exe.
