Global Sorting
Is there a way to set up filter which works across multiple accounts? Alternatively, is there a way to set up a folder which is common to more than one account? If, as I suspect, the answer to both questions is no, can anyone suggest a graceful way to handle the following situation? I have several POP3 accounts. Once upon a time RITLabs had them available through their web site, but then, suddenly, some not smart person decided to publish a beta on a CD or or other web site. Since betas are per definition not releases - are made for testing purposes, will have bugs - people using these version could claim that TB! isn't that good a problem. Other than Opera RITLabs decided not to add an annoying beta warning but to let only people registered on the TBBETA list know when, where and what. Sadly this is not a fairy tale but it had happened that way. So, if you want to be part of the beta team, join TBBETA. There you will get a proper announcement containing a URL for the download (you'll need a programme that can un-RAR). For understandable reason I won't give a d'l location here, but why don't you ask again on TBBETA? Another thing, although TB!'s betas are usually quite stable and good to use in an everyday environment, it is still beta testing. -- Dierk Haasis http://www.Write4U.de http://Interest.Write4U.de/pongo PGP keys available: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?Subject=SendMyPGPkeys The Bat 1.54 Beta/31 on Windows 95 4.0 67306684 C Die Trunkenheit vermehrt schön zwei schöne Dinge - Mut und Liebe. I would like this to operate so that I can have TB! dial up the account connection, check for messages and redirect the appropriate messages, and then disconnect, so that this can be done when I am not at my computer. Re[2]: Management of folders
I'm not really sure what you're trying to do. Let me try to throw out a bunch of information, and perhaps some of it will apply to your situation. If this doesn't answer your concern, write back with more specific info on your objectives. 1. Generally speaking, one can open any messages.tbb file in MBA. Once the messages are there, you can save them in MBA's archive format in any location and under any name you choose. (There are options concerning attachments and compression.) 2. You can open multiple messages.tbb files in MBA, and archive the messages in one consolidated MBA archive. To do this, first open one .tbb file. Then, without clearing the primary grid, open the other(s). Once all the messages are in the grid, Save As in the location, and with the name, you desire. 3. If you want to separate out some messages from one or more .tbb files, put the starting file(s) in the MBA primary grid, then apply your search criteria (even regexp if necessary), transfer to the subset grid, and perform a Save As from the subset grid. These instructions should allow you to create one archive from one .tbb file, multiple archives from one or more .tbb files, and one archive from multiple .tbb files. In addition, you can append future messages into the MBA archive. (What you cannot do is to bring a .tbb file into MBA and resave it as a .tbb file with a custom name; but there would be no purpose in that anyway as far as I can see.) If I'm missing something, let me know and I'll try to address it. JN Geoff Lane wrote on Sunday, January 27, 2002: MBA imports whatever .TBB files you want, separated or merged however *you* tell it to do it, and then keeps it nameless, in memory, until/unless you save it as an archive. At that point, you can name it whatever you want. I have not had any of the naming problems you described, in importing or exporting, single mailboxes or multiple. (And all of this is just using the primary grid; it's all even more adaptable using the subset grid.) --- You could really help me out here. I could find no method of keeping messages from different TB folders apart in MBA -- whatever I tried, it used the filename as the name of the mailbox. Are you saying that you can import TBBs into MBA and give custom mailbox names? If so, could you please provide instructions -- I really would appreciate them. -- Archives : http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com Moderators : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] TBTech List: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Latest Vers: 1.53d FAQ: http://faq.thebat.dutaint.com
