I have a silly question I should have asked the first time. Is this a
single POP3/IMAP account these mails are being sent to? Or do you
have two accounts?

Did you send two independent emails, or one email, and the two
addresses in the To/CC fields?

I'm slight confused on your setup. Do you have two accounts? Or one
account, and two aliases? Are you trying to download from the same
account, but with two different accounts in TheBat?

> Any ideas?

Sure, if I can find out your setup, we may have some slight confusion
on the settings of the filters, and we might be looking at the wrong
kind of theory. Of course, I could be mistaken, but I thought
"Recipient" was the To/CC fields, but it 'could' be possible that it
reads the headers and works out the 'delivered to' account, and you
might be catching that.

Just as a small point, you removed all my reply to you, which meant I
had to go find my reply to work out what you were saying thanks to ;)
Please try including a quote of the original mail, even if it is
trimmed down to the parts that are only relevant to your reply. Also
steer _far_ away from top posting (where all the quoted mail is at the
bottom, and your reply is up the top). Outlook forces that kind of
behavior, which is rather poor in my opinion (and many others on this
list), as it doesn't follow simple logic of conversation (ie, you
don't get the answer to a question before you asked the question).

Re: Incoming email to correct Account

2002-11-26 Thread Peter Evans
Jonathan,
Thanks for those tips.
I have been trying various things.

I changed the Rule of BusinessA to
  strings = @BusinessA.com
  location = Recipient
  Presence = Yes

Similarly for BusinessB.

I then sent 2 test messages - 1 to BusinessA, 1 to BusinessB.

However if I am on BusinessB (that is it is selected) when I try and
download I get the 2 messages to BusinessB and none to BusinessA.
Another test when I am on BusinessA I get the 2 messages to BusinesA and
none to BusinessB.

Another test when I choose the button with the All option I get the 2
messages to BusinessA and the same 2 to BusinessB.

I still can't get them filtered by Account.

Any ideas?

Regards, Peter Evans

I am facing this problem since yesterday [26/11/2002]

  Steps to reproduce the Problem:
compose a new mail and enter the sender mail id startring with
  "bi..." or "bo"
  immediately the application closes down...

This was the problem i was facing yesterday [26/11/2002] but from
today [27/11/2002] onwards the moment i enter the sender's mail ID
in the "To" Row of new message BAT closes down without any error.

I would also like to mention that i am able to send the message if i use the senders
Id from
  Address Book.

Note : Earlier i was using WINDOWS NT 4.0 and a backup was taken of
the mails that i was using in WINDOWS NT 4.0

well , as they write it in abc there will be potential variations
around as Thai written in ENGLISH letters with its irregular spelling
of its own shows some great (out of topic) confusing results
Thani, Thanee etc etc
I was told that peacecorps had to so with setting rules up in Thailand
regarding spelling.. a great pity(g) as almost any other language would have
been better to give a systematic result..

My son's name is RAAD. The way we gave it to them, long A.
Idiots in BKK when making a passport made it into RAT.
This distinctly sounds different(g) and has a different meaning.
Obviously Thais donot realise that RAT isnt a suitable name in
European languages... as they themselves use NOO (ie mouse/rat ) as
nickname...
When translating various papers I always tell the translating office
what certain words like names where to prevent identical disasters...

By the way Burirom in the long name above is also name of a town
providing many of the nice girls one encounters in Thailand...

I have done the same: I absolutely refuse to receive exe, bmp, doc,
xls and similar files. Sender can zip them as far as I am concerned.
Some files can be very large so I donot want them unless I am told in

there are on the net some prograns around called addvanced password
recovery and they exist for email, word, excel, PDF etc
Demos are downloadable and while it may only give the first 4
letters it may be enough to make you remember the rest.
An alternative is a program which reads any field you can highlight
and shows the password. Its freeware, I have it and will happily email
it to you. If I remember correctly it read my bat passwords on
myrealbox.com accounts..

Name is revelation and last version is v2 ( I think)

What I actually had in mind was using regular expressions to find a
pattern, and then modify that found text. At the time I was looking to
indent a section of text (quoted from a previous message), by "finding"
each line and adding a fixed number of spaces before it. However there
are probably a million and one things you could do with a regex
find-and-replace if only you could include the text pattern you just
found.

Just use %TO=""%TO="[EMAIL PROTECTED]" to clear the To: field before adding a new
entry.

setting To-address in reply

2002-11-26 Thread Roman Katzer
Hello list,

am I dense this morning?
I've just subscribed to another mailing list. The problem there is - the
list server doesn't set a reply-to, so when I hit reply the original
sender's address shows up in the reply mail. I can use %TO="[EMAIL PROTECTED]" in the
reply template, but then the list addess is an additional recipient.
I want only the list address in the To-field. Can this be done?

Roman

Just to add - the folder view window has a message list of its own.
The highlight does move in that message list. To see this list, use
the "View | Message list" option of the folder view menu.

Mass mailings

2002-11-26 Thread Clive Taylor
I want to send a newsletter to around 50 people using TB's mass
mailing feature.

I've set up a group, am happy about including the macros I need in the
QT I've defined BUT I can't figure out how to edit and format the text
of the message I want to send.

I can copy & paste the main message text into the QT 'editor' box but
this is a bit cumbersome. Have I overlooked something?
