Actually, there is an alternative. You can go to the other extreme and get used to the Ctrl-Shift-F keystroke. What's that for? Turning "Auto-format" on and off. It is a complement to auto-wrap and fixes the "go back and edit" issues completely. how to install AVG .bav for multi-user network
Hello tbudl, I have a small network with five workstations, happily using TB for several years. Recently we've installed AVG Antivirus and have found out that a plug-in exists for TB. I am wondering how to install it. Here's our situation. One workstation (let's call it "Frank") contains all mail folders and acts as a TCP/IP or Dial-out Server. The other workstations are set up in TCP/IP Workstation mode. Each workstation points to a copy of thebat.exe that physically exists on Frank. When you launch TB from workstation George, it reaches across the network and reads thebat.exe from Frank into George's RAM. I'm not sure, but I believe each workstation must have its own registry entries for TB. (???) So, here's the question. Do I need to install the AVG plug-in separately for each workstation? Or do I only need to install it on Frank? -- Best regards, Lee Using The Bat! v1.62i on Windows 2000 5.0 Build 2195 Service Pack 3 Current version is 1.62 | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Wrapping and horizontal scrollbars
Hi TBUDL, One thing I'm not too happy about is the wrapping. Personally I'd prefer not to use the auto-wrap feature, as its a bit of a pain when you have to go back and edit text you've written. However there seems to be no alternative. Turning it off produces that nasty horizontal scrollbar when you start typing long sentences, which is a big no-no for me anyway. Is there anyway to have standard text wrapping that doesn't actually split the text but just makes it looks so (ie. the horz scrollbar never appears) ? This also happens if you select the "View->Original Text" option when replying to messages. All the best, Aidan McKenna. I used Postcast for a while, it works as expected. There are few annoyances, like e-mail now really going out when you scheduled it to go out. It is able to handle quite a bit of e-mail volume. You can also hook it up to a database and keep a serious log of your operations. I installed it on an W98 box and it hogged resources at some points in time and slowed things, don't know if it was 98 or Postcast at fault.
