All of a sudden TB! does not retrieve mail anymore.
The Connection Centre pops up and 'checks' all accounts, but finds nothing.
The log says: cannot connect to server.

I do not think the problem is with my providers' server, for all five

I have been using a beta for several weeks, but never had any problems.
Nevertheless I tried switchinh back to the stable release, but that somehow

I have TB! list mails filtered into separate folders. If I view a few
mails leave the folder and return, it'll open up a thread halfway down
the page with the new messages not showing off the top of the page.

How can I get the folder to default to the top of the page, rather than
halfway down?

It's just so annoying when new messages keep appearing, I have to close
the open thread and scroll to the top of the list.

Please help :-(

You have already received replies on this, but I want to clarify. TB
stores the already downloaded messages (their UID to be precise) in
an account.* file. So, once you have downloaded the mail, it will not
be downloaded again, unless the server changes the UID. This should
not happen if you use only POP, so you are safe from duplicates.

AaA So that, the other copy of The Bat on a different machine (set to
AaA delete) will then get its one copy and delete the email.

On the different machine, the UID is not in TB's database, so it will
be downloaded there. If you delete the message on server, that's
exactly what you do: And if you haven't downloaded it on the other
machine yet, that other machines will be unable to receive it later.

I used to check my private email in the office, leaving mail on
server. No duplicates. When I checked at home, the same mails were
downloaded to my home computer and deleted from the server. Worked
fine.

MB This is as well as I can understand the various announcements and

Sounds good Mary.
I don't even notice the difference between v2 and 3 besides the icons.
So the upgrade price was a 'waste of money' for me; besides keeping an

But step by step integration of SecureBat features makes it worthwhile
for me.
If message base encryption means that incoming PGP messages are stored

You could mark your text and insert it as a column (right click in the

I do not think the problem is with my providers' server, for all five
accounts with different providers give the same problem.

I have been using a beta for several weeks, but never had any
problems. Nevertheless I tried switchinh back to the stable release,
but that somehow or other does not work.

That sounds like a firewall issue to me. Maybe your firewall decided to
block TB! for some inexplicable reason. Which firewall are you using?

The BCC to another machine templates/filters

2004-10-29 Thread admin
I want to set up the BCC template and the filter for receiving emails
BCC'd from another machine.

I know someone out there has done it and hoped that they ight jut be
able to cut and paste the template and the filter to save me having to
're-invent the wheel'.

My problems are over - still using 3.0.1.33

Need to catch my breath before installing another beta ;-)

No it is/was not: I only have Win SP2's firewall turned on now - since the
router in my adsl modem includes a firewall - or so I am told.

Everything works fine again after a system restore: same firewall,
anti-virus and what have you.

It was scary, but also the first time in about three years TB! let me down.

No, no. I think it was fine for you to try the beta's, since you found
out where to get them.

But you are welcome to subscribe to the tbbeta list without being a
beta tester and lurk there, or even post questions about your problems
related to running betas there.

I thought the way that you do about the tbbeta list for years and
months. But when I started lurking there, I found a number of people
who were not running betas posting there.

And I posted there, while still running v. 2.12.00--earlier maybe
sometime after getting v. 2.xx, because I began lurking there along
about v. 2.6. And no one objected, unless I put a strange Smiley
symbol in my post, like :batbeer: . There was a lot of complaint about
the Smiley colons for awhile. :)

AT My problems are over - still using 3.0.1.33

I'm glad it is stable for you. Think about getting the Christmas
Edition--it's going to be great, from the look of v. 3.0.2.3. :)

AT Need to catch my breath before installing another beta ;-)

As I have already reported on TBBeta several times, I _do_ use quite a
number of VFs and I have _not_ experienced a single hang on exit yet.

So, its the other something! :-)

No, you weren't dreaming since I got a number of those suggestions just

It doesn't not work with CSAPI, only with normal TB dictionaries.
However, for this to work, in Spell Checker/Options you must select
Suggest split words.

I'm not sure what template you mean. In order to BCC to yourself, just
used the macro %BCC=[EMAIL PROTECTED] in your templates.

Then, create an incoming filter that matches on [EMAIL PROTECTED] in
Headers. Tell this filter to mark messages as read and to continue
with other filters.

That's my setup. The mentioned incoming filter is called Self.
