Because it is wrong to leave a blank space between the last word and

Simple reason, your not supposed to leave a space between the last word in

exclamation mark and a full stop. You don't put a space before any of

I installed FaJo XP File Security Extension v0.9 (XP FSE) yesterday.
The file and folder Security tabs appeared. The security settings
could be altered _on_the_tabs_. I rebooted my system.

It was as though I had not checked the tabs' boxes at all. I looked at
the security tabs, and the checks were still in the boxes.

Then I looked at the Further Information at the bottom of FaJo XP
FSE's page
http://www.fajo.de/portal/index.php?option=contenttask=viewid=6Itemid=

The first Information listed How to set, view, change or remove file

Reference 307874 How to disable simplified sharing and set

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307874 includes a statement saying
that simple file sharing is the default setting of Windows XP.
Document 307874 also contains this: Note You cannot turn off simple
file sharing in Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition. Does anyone know a
way to get around that, without upgrading XP HOme to XP Pro?

This may be a clue. When I installed Nero Burning ROM on my previous
(now defunct) W2k system and again when I installed Nero Burning ROM
on my new Windows XP Home system, a message from Nero advised me to
download, install and run a utility called Nero Burn Rights

utility worked. Nero used a utility to make it work. If someone can
figure out how, perhaps everyone can do it using a similar utility.

 Yes.

If it will, how do you use it?

 * Please

 your own risk.
 *

Open a command window. (Start menu Run cmd)

Change the directory by typing (without the quotes) cd C:\Program
Files\The Bat! (assuming that's where you have installed it)

 Type (without quotes) cacls *.* /t /e /g Users:f

Just typing cacls without all the switches should bring up a list
of what they do, or you could google for it.

Alternatively, copy the speller directory to somewhere the user
does have write permission, such as C:\Documents and
Settings\Your_User_Name\Application Data\The Bat! and tell TB to
 look there.

If I go this route, how should I tell TB to look there?

Method 1: In a New Message window, Spell Checker Dictionaries...
Add File. Then browse to where you've copied the files to and
 click open.

This will add entries to the file list at Spell Checker
Dictionaries... File:. You can remove the extras from the list
with the remove button. Probably easier to remove before adding if
the file names in both locations are the same.

If you want to add the custom dictionary that you've put words into
from MS word or OE it's probably at C:\\Documents and
 Settings\\USER_NAME\\Application Data\\Microsoft\\Proof\\CUSTOM.DIC

 Method 2: edit the registry.

This didn't solve the problem. Non-administrators still can't add
words to the spelling lists.

You may not be able to drag text from an email to a word processor,
but you can attach a file to a new mail by dragging it and dropping
it onto the Create A New Message button on the toolbar. A blank mail
will then appear with the file attached.

 We did in France.

I interpret that as we don't, anymore, or why did you write did?

:) It depends on how you understand the sentence but to be clear, in
French, there's always one unbreakable space before a :, an !, a ; and
a ? and a space after. I hope this is clearer now. Same things for the
quotation caracter : it's « plus an unbreakable space for the
beginning quotation caracter and an unbreakable space plus » for the
ending.

Words works like for instance.

Editor colours

2004-11-29 Thread Admin at AK
In HTML/Windows Editor layout:

I have the following set:

Regular text - navy
Quoted text - olive
Signature text - silver

Now:

If I reply to a message the quoted text is olive, my reply text is also olive
even when separated by two carriage returns above and below the new text.

The signature text is navy.

If I start a new message the text is in navy and the signature text is in navy.

Am I missing some setting?

Thanks for info. When I try I fetch mail from TheBat, it sleeps
forever after doing certificate verification of Gmail. No mails are
downloaded

However, what exactly I was looking in particular is what options to
select for following (if they could have any affect)

Transport-Receive Mail-Authentication-
- Regular
- MSN(NTLM)
- Compuserve (RPA)
- MD5 APOP...
- MD-5 CRAM-HMAC

Thanks.

K9 spam filter

2004-11-29 Thread P.Johnson
Hello,

I've set up K9 anti-spam and the TB filters to move spam to a junk
folder, but for some reason the filter isn't working. K9 allows you to
use the message header X-Text-Classification to identify spam for the
purpose of filtering it.

The filter is as follows:

 TB! Message Filter
beginFilter
UID: [97E80840.01C492FE.7689AE34.682BBB08]
Name: K9\20Anti-Spam
Filter: {\0D\0A\20`7`X-Text-Classification`0`\20spam\0D\0A}
MoveMessage folder \5C\5Cpatnet\5C$JUNK$
IsActive
endFilter

Email marked as spam stays resolutely in the inbox. Any ideas?

Thank you in advance.
