Yes, in Mulberry
I'm not convinced about that at this stage, Roelof. Tony has posted a
number of messages testing his IMAP accounts in TBBETA using Mulberry that
have failed to thread properly while other people using the prog have not
had problems. I've switched from TB to Mulberry to post this - let's have a
look at the headers when it appears on the list.

So I suggest you follow that path.

So your headers are fine. Nevertheless, Tony's aren't. And since his

All leads to the conclusion that it's Tony's Mulberry. Whether it is a

headers specially for threading, but makes them in such a way that
they don't work, because they're not following the proper RFC.

It's a rotten discussion trick, but I really think this is off topic
for tbudl or tbbeta, since it concerns a different mail client and the

The problem was not missing or being ignored. The problem is with the

I'm sincerely sorry that the customised shortcuts from older versions

If you managed the symbol size via the 'Batskin.xml', there is the

This version was also tested for bugs on Windows 98/Windows 2000 and

See Screenshots [1],[2]+[3]

If you would like to try them, please take a look at the readme file

It seems odd behaviour though, what could be in spam email to kill

I do exactly what Peter recommends for the mass mailings I send out

Search feature

2005-05-17 Thread Steve Lee
I may have found a bug.

I was in this forum and did a search for Steve Lee in the new
Search field (vain aren't I?) and that worked great so I could find
all messages to and from me.

Unfortunately I could not then look at all other messages without
leaving the program and coming back in.

I tried clearing the filed then hitting return and then tried entering
a * but it just insisted on just displaying my messages.

When you delete messages let's say in folder A, before you purge

Folder/Browse deleted messages (also from folder RMB menu). Then, a
folder window open showing you the deleted messages that you can then
Undelete.

Anyone else seeing the sort of Mem Usage growth that I'm seeing here?

Yes, very similar. Memory usage was around 150M after twenty hours
or so. After a restart it's back to 30M. I'm using a single IMAP
 account and the Avast plug-in.

I've been monitoring this over the past couple of days and reckon it's
linked to browsing messages. I'm certainly confident it's not caused
by receiving messages; an increase in memory usage only occurs if I'm
actively using TB!, i.e. viewing messages. Memory usage didn't
increase over an eight hour period while I was away from my desk. TB!
was checking for mail every minute: a tad under 1,000 messages
received.

Try this. Restart TB! and note memory usage. Now browse your messages
with PTV or RTV and you'll see memory usage increase (just keep
clicking on messages.) Every time I choose another message or folder
the memory footprint grows. The RTV has the added problem that
messages larger than about 1M consume heaps of memory.

Re: [TBUDL] Proposal for spam filters

2005-05-17 Thread St - Musaic.Net

In order to easily identify emails from this group trapped in our spam
filters can all subject fields please be prefixed with [The Bat!] if
you have control over the emailer software used?

Why can't you just sort on list email adresses?!? You can not rely on
each user to insert a tag - it won't work! There would be no lasting
standard unless list admin is deciding something. Relying on users to
insert tags manually, would be to rely on a tag anarchy.

  Sort messages on (list) recipient:

  TBUDL = tbudl@thebat.dutaint.com
  TBBETA = tbbeta@thebat.dutaint.com
  and so on.

I understand your problem - I, too, got tired of the lack of proper
subject tags that some mailing lists have. I just designed a plug-in
for my TB featuring a bunch of *very* useful things (ie. a *terrific*
anti-spam system). One feture I eventually added was one that inserts
the correct subject tag for any mailing list (TBUDL, TBBTEA, etc.).
It works perfect, and it looks GOOD, too! :) (It even converts improper
subject tags into proper subject tags if I am not happy with the ones
  provided! ;).

Like I said, you can not rely on each user to insert a tag. You must do
it yourself unless the list admin fixes it.

I would hate to accidentally report genuine emails as spam at Spamcop
 for instance.

  Hmmm...

Gordon Bennett. Everyone's going to be using it now. Subject lines full of
quirky little anecdotes enclosed in square brackets. I'm with Wham on this
one, there are enough headers to filter on. And if it ain't spam it
shouldn't get classified as such.

Truth is only one in a million posts to any of these bat lists, including
the Yahoo group is spam. And even then it's normally a genuine mistake on a
