Could you have accidently set it to be hidden?

If you go to Options, then Preferences, and check
what the "Display connection centre" is set for.
It's at the bottom right of the General Tab.

Connection centre disappeared

2009-08-30 Thread Henk M. de Bruijn
Hallo TBLUDL,

Forgive my ignorance but I used to see the connection centre (for all my
accounts) every time I started the Bat! But for some reason this disappeared.
My messages do arrive though but I like to see the connection centre.
Who can help me out?
TIA

Not sure I quite follow "browsing for" a folder in TB!

Do you mean when you were in the folder properties of your "B'dette"
folder trying to set up moving purged messages by alternative deletion
to the new "B'dette" folder in your new Archived Messages account? If
so, had you signed into the Archived Messages account and expanded its
folder tree at the time (because otherwise the folders in that account
would not be visible for you to browse to)?

That was a good trick if you could not find the folder. (-;

If a message is parked in its folder it will not be automatically
deleted or purged to the archive folder.

Unless I have covered it above, nor do I.

Apostrophes are OK. AFAIK, you can use any character in a TB! folder
name that Windows will let you put in a Windows folder name.

being so used the TB for ages.

Sorry, I should have been more specific: I meant in TB! I was browsing for it

Could it be because there was an apostrpohe in the name? Yet, the box in the
new account Archived Messages has the same name (B'dette) but that is perfectly
visible from within TB!

You could put the destination folder for your archived messages under
"normal deletion" instead of under "alternative deletion" and not tick
"Use alternative deletion for purging this folder." Then any message
you selected and hit DELETE (without SHIFT) would be archived as well.
Depends on what behaviour you want - I probably would forget to press
SHIFT when deleting, so I'd end up archiving some spam as well.

Thanks for clarifying that. I have it all set up now.

Is the folder one of the standard ones on an account, such as
Inbox, Outbox, Sent Mail, Inbox - known, Trash? They don't tend to go
if you try to delete them.

Ticking "Use folder specific deletion settings" is needed so that the
deletion options are available to use. You then specify what those
settings are. The messages more than your stated number of days old
will be purged from the folder and you want them moved to an archive
folder, not put in trash or simply deleted.

You could put the destination folder for your archived messages under
"normal deletion" instead of under "alternative deletion" and not tick
"Use alternative deletion for purging this folder." Then any message

2009-08-30 Thread A . Translator
Following up on the advice in another thread about setting up Archived
messages, I run into difficulties with one particular folder. When the message
in that folder where not deleted after exiting TB! I found that the folder is
not listed when I try to browse to it - it simply does not show up in the tree
of folders.

I tried deleing first all messages in that folder and then the complete folder,
but it won't go. I tried renaming the folder and restarting TB, but no luck.

Re: TB lagging?

2009-08-30 Thread A . Translator

- In Properties/Deletion, I tick the 'Use folder specific deletion
settings' option.

- Then, for 'Alternative deletion' I select 'Move to the specified
folder' and, of course, I browse to select the corresponding folder in
the 'Archived_Messages account'.

Thanks for setting it out so clearly, but why tick both "Use folder specific
deletion settings" whic leads to the folder in the Archives and "'Alternative
deletion' > 'Move to the specified

folder' ?

I don't understand that.

My "All Outgoing - Archive it" filter has the condition "Any message"
and the action "Copy to the folder \\Archived_Messages\Sent Mail"
(You should not need to tick "Automatically create if necessary" if you
are copying to the "Sent Mail" folder in the Archive account as that
folder will have been created when you created the new account.)

On the "Options" tab, it is ticked as "active"

On the "Share with tab" in the sorting office, all the accounts I wish
to archive sent messages from are ticked

> And just to make sure I understand this correctly: I

Correct. The messages will still be moved/copied to the Archive
account but TB! will not waste time and resources loading the message
base for the folders in that account unless you sign into it.

> For the setting up process, I did have to sign in. Otherwise the

If you are not signed into a password-protected account, it does not
show up in the list to copy to. You can just type into the box but why
introduce the possibility of error for the sake of signing into an
account?  (-;
