Selective Sent Mail Removal
Hi, I had a filter that would remove the local copy of messages sent to this list and before I re-do that I wanted to see if there is something that is built into TB!. I've looked for a 'don't save' type option but figure the filter is the solution... What I had before was an outbox filter. I was kind of unsure if it would just delete my mail as I tried to send it but it worked as I wanted in 1.62r. I'd also like to not keep sent items for other email I send from time to time.. Perhaps a macro that I can run when I create the message? Macro / Template annoyances
Hi,
Apparently macro placement has become more critical in v2.00 - I was
able to use %ACCOUNT anywhere in the (AB) template with 1.62r where
now it will break (if placed below) %fromname.
Why would I do that? Because of the annoying blank lines that are
added to a message when templates use certain macros.
Is there a way that despite the apparent new placement requirements
that I can keep macros such as %ACCOUNT, %QUOTES, etc from adding
their own new lines?
The only resolution which seems to be is to put all the macros on one
line, which is rather nasty looking in the template editor.

Similarly, I wound up using %QUOTES%CURSOR since %QUOTES adds a blank

workaround.

Address book / Autocomplete bug confirmation anyone?
Hi, I created a second address "Mail Lists" book with TBOT, TBUDL and some other entries which are for mailing lists. Options -> Pref -> System : Autocomplete on, Check All addr books (note no history check) Address Autocomplete would work for TBOT but not TBUDL ...so then Copied all entries from Mail List address book to the default book Options -> Pref -> System : Autocomplete on, Ck Default AddrBK only Autocomplete works as expected for all.. While segregation of the entries isn't mandatory for me I would like to use more than one address book and apparently autocomplete has issues with it. Just for kicks, perhaps someone can explain what is happening when starting on the first column of a message "Options ->" becomes something 'special' and changes color. When TB starts and message auto-view = ON, default to preview of no message. Or perhaps if it's ON by default, turn it OFF on initial startup until a message is specifically selected. It's annoying to have spam or whatever happens to gain focus at startup get tagged read, shown and so-on. There are many work-arounds I can imagine but it would be better IMHO if TB simply did not automatically select a message to view. I'm trying out a few things with filters and figured I would use try some I see in the repository. I'm a bit confused though. Looking at: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/Library.html#filter+collection for instance.. The long list of BeginFiler, EndFilter, settings, arguments, etc then looking at the sorting office input area(s).. I was checking in on my favorite file manager http://www.ghisler.com/ and was redirected to http://swpat.ffii.org shortly after a brief message about Christian's protest effort. Do you think the panic is warranted? We in the US have had this sort of big fish - little fish situation for some time I think and it's hard to really see clearly how much or what loss has occurred because of software patenting. All I know at this point is how frustrating it is to have people write programs that rely on MS IE and other 'non monopolistic' freebie programs that are infused in windows.. sigh. It's becoming very tiresome trying to assemble a suite of core applications on my lean OS setup that don't require some more crap from the microsoft pasta machine. Plug-in SDK / API info availability
I'm interested in exploring the plug-in API and perhaps writting some widgets for TB!, can someone point me in the right direction? Version 1.x info would be okay for some insight but I really would like to look into writing a spam filter plug-in for v2. BTW: I left a message titled: "OT: TB! v2 price anyone? Help deciding on a version and so forth" I realize perhaps it may just have not gotten any responses for lack of interest but I wanted to ask if there was some other technical, list reason that maybe it is simply not being shown in the list? S/MIME vs PGP
My guess is that PGP is the favorite amongst most here yet I wanted to see if I can get an idea which I should explore first. A long time ago with IE like 2.0 or 3.0 I bought a verisign S/MIME key to fiddle with. MS cryptoAPI was a PITA and eventually I broke everything and blew the whole venture off.. Never have used PGP for any length of time although I have always had a great interest in privacy and data security and keeping the black choppers away. I've so far generated a few key pair and tossed some mail back and forth with a couple account to get the hang of it.. I'd like to stick with the internal implementations of either unless there is some flaw with that thinking.. I have a common partition that I have TB reside on and 3 different versions of windows swap in/out of C: all sharing the common TB install. Mind you I did install it once and pluck out the "RIT" registry chain before I removed that partition and re-imaged it. However I don't think I really had to since TB simply created the missing reg entries (defaults of course) in the other OS when I ran the client. With regard to the backup feature, it has worked perfectly for me during the re-partitioning, OS swapping and so forth that I was doing seeing how TB will work not really being installed on any of the 3 windows partitions that I can boot. Also, unlike some programs you need not worry if your account(s) don't show up as expected. Create new account -> pointing to the directory where the files are.. works great. I SO THRILLED about how everything is so un-bound from windows and all the nasty underpinnings that make migration from-to another computer, backups, restore, etc so painless with TB. Craig, my two cents are to go with your gut feeling and use the (backup) TBK file. Works well. And as Allie said, manually moving it is no hassle. Hi all! Just got around to joining the list. I've been using TB for a few days now and feel pretty comfortable with it. However there are some areas MIA in the help file and have been unable to find relevant information in the FAQs and so forth. I am wanting to choose my own startup defaults for the dispatcher read|recieve|delete|open flags. Is there any way to do that? Secondly, is it possible to associate a folder to a recipient email address? It would be useful for lists and other sorted email folders. EG: -N when TBUDL folder is selected would default to addressing the message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] without having to add to, select from the address book.
