Addressbook problems with The Bat! v3.95.06

2007-02-06 Thread SD

Hi,

After installing the latest version of TheBat (v3.95.06), I am facing
some problems.

(1)

if I select couple of messages and do add sender to address book and
specifiy contact group to be added, only the first message sender is
added and rest ignored.

(2)

Somewhat worsed!
As above didn't work, I tried to create rule to add sender to
addressbook-group, for all messages in a directory. After running this
rule, my whole address book is missing, and lost all contacts.

I tried to load addressbook set, import etc. and nothing works.

Someone had similar experience`?

Re: Addressbook problems with The Bat! v3.95.06

2007-02-06 Thread SD

The problem is everything was working fine with earlier version. I was
able to add sender from multiple messages at once to addressbook
group/groups. Now it isn't possible

After my addressbook got missing, it just doesn't load any addresses
when I try to load/import the ABD file.

I tried repair, reinstall TheBat!, but no success.

I've heard that before.

Cannot confirm that behaviour with the current version (3.95.08) I've
got several filters that add contacts to address book groups (never a
whole folder at once though) and they work flawlessly.

TB getting slow

2005-12-06 Thread SD
Off late my TB has become rather slow, as the number of emails keep
increasing. Now I have around 80,000 emails accumalted over last
several years.

I keep upgrading to new version of TB, but still slow. I don't have
virus in my PC either.
I run TB maintenance regularly also.

Any clue, how it can be improved? Is there any convenient way/format
to archive emails from TB.

Problems with Korean-based formatted emails

2005-11-06 Thread SD
When I get an email (in ENGLISH) from Korean friend (i.e. from a
Korean mail server or whatsoever in default korean formatting).., I
can almost never see the text of message until I do, either
- Alt+5 (Auto Detect character set), OR
- select Character Set-Korean

However in some cases, none of these works, and I can't see the
message at all. (I then have to read it on webmail)

Morever, the To header of such emails appear garbage (small square
etc.), and as a result my incoming filters doesn't work (which are
based on To field)

Any workarounds? Suggestions.

I am using latest version of TB 3.62.10 (on Win XP)

Hi marek, I think I already have the latest version (release date 1-Nov-05).

Btw, how did you get this 3.62.12. The download page itself doesn't show.

After I installed my TB, my version is shown is 3.62.10

Really strange behaviour.

2005-08-06 Thread SD
I have 39 people in my address group, and when I try to send message
(using Quick Template + mass mailing), it does show 39 mails in
Outbox, however, the message sending windows shows 585 messages are
being sent, i.e. to each address, 15 emails are sent.

This bug is really stange. it does probably has to do something with
fact that i have multiple attachements in Quick Template? (when i had
more attachments it showed 624 mails in queue...)

Btw, the email received to my friends were in the format which could
not be opened/decoded.

or because i installed latest version of TB?

any other hints.

TB went insane

2005-04-13 Thread SD
I have been using TB without problems, but suddenly many of messages
have gone missing and some folders disappeared from view (though
hopefully they are still somewhere there in harddrive).

When ever I try to close (Alt+F4) or open search window, I always
get this error 006E5260 access violation

Anyone else faced with similar experiences?

Re: TB went insane

2005-04-13 Thread SD
I re-installed but behaviour is still same. However Ctrl-Alt-Shift-L,
helped me restore folders with messages, but other problems still
persist.

And now it seems that only way to shutdown TB is via killing this
process via task manager.

Alt+F4 still gives 006E5260 access violation

Change reply-to for a folder

2001-04-12 Thread sd

I have a folder, into which all my mail from a mailing list goes to.
When I reply to a message, instead of getting the email address of the
list, I get the email address of the person who sent the message.

Can I do something to change, for this one folder, the address that
ALL replies go to by default?

Thank you in advance.

OK. I'm convinced. I'll contact the list owner and try to get him to
fix the Reply-To header.

Thanks for the heads-up on the potential complications.

of course if you could produce a filter that could filter

Strange, I found the [Import from Unix Mailboxes] option to be
 the most reliable one.

i figured this one out -- i had an account highlighted, not a
folder. so the option to import, although not grayed out,
was unavailable.

i'm guessing my best bet now is to export to an RFC822 text
file and then import via the command line... if anybody has
tried this or has a better suggestion please let me know. the
Poco mail files are .mbx files; i wouldn't expect it to be
 this difficult to import them...

Isn't .mbx file standard unix format? Have you tried to open a
.mbx with a text editor? Is it in plain text?

yes, it is. and it imports just fine, with the one
exception you mention below...

The major problem with converting mail to TB! involves with the
"received date/time", unless the source file start each message
with a line like the following:

From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Jul 2 23:56:35 2000

where date/time has to be in the exact order: day of week,
month, day of month, time, and year. Otherwise TB would display
the wrong date. (Note this "From" line is different from the
"From:" field in the header, where there's a colon following the
keyword "From".) If the line is missing, TB would use the
date/time of import for it, so all the messages would end up
 with the same received date/time.

you are correct; this is a problem. although definitely not
an insurmoutable one...

In short, if the .mbx files you have isn't in plain text unix
format, you'll have to find a way to export it as such. Then we
can go from there. If you run into the date/time conversion
trouble I described above, you may use a editor with macro
ability to correct them. I still have my Ultraedit macros with
 me, should you need them.

thank you. i would like to give them a try before trying my own...

The Bat! seems to only delete the last selected character
instead of the entire selection when i have a selection and
hit the delete key -- i can get around this by using Alt-E,
D, but it would be nice if i could just go back to using the
trusty delete key...

once again, tia.
