I had a similar request but could never get it to work. One of the

is what you would like to do.

If I have an address set up for someone whose first name is Charles
but he goes by Chuck this will put Chuck in the e-mail instead of
Charles.

I created the following quick template called Nickname

%_To_NN=%SetPattRegexp='(?im)^aka:\s*(.*?)$'%RegExpMatch='%ABToMemo'%-
%If:'%_To_NN'''%-
:'%_To_Name=%_To_NN'%-
:'%_To_Name=%Capital(%ABToFirstName=^%ToFName^)'%-
%_To_Name

I then include the following in the AB on the other tab

aka: Chuck

In my new message template I include

%QInclude=Nickname

There might be a better/easier way that I do not know of, but try
this.

Find the batskin.xml file in the root directory of The Bat!. On my
system that is C:\Program Files\The Bat!

Open this file with an editor such as notepad. Change the width and
height of the icons you want to edit to a different size. I have
changed mine to 16x16 but experiment with what size you think is
the best.

If you can not find batskin.xml respond back and I can e-mail you the
file or insert the text in an e-mail message and you can cut and paste
the info into your own file.

spam locking TheBat!

obviously spam and gets filtered to my junk folder.

If I click on the e-mail to delete it, TB! locks and will not respond.
I have to kill TB! with the task manager. The only way I can delete
this e-mail is to pick an e-mail above and shift-pick below and
delete the group.

Has anyone had a similar problem?

spam filtering

Hi All

I finally gave up on using the bayes filtering in TB! and decided to
try K9.

It is working very well the only problem I have now is with one
newsletter I receive.

The newsletter has this header

X-Habeas-Report: Please report use of this mark in spam to...

This causes my filter to put the newsletter in my spam folder since my
filter looks for the word spam in the headers.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? Is there a more sophisticated
way to setup my filter to work with K9?

I am now back to using Outlook for some accounts and TB for others.

The CC is active, but usually empty -- that is, there are no tasks

I haven't investigated the idea of multiple accounts within a single

2004-09-23 Thread Terry Frazier
This appears to be a problem that existed in the early Betas, but I'm
having it now with v.3.0 -- TB! will not close.

After perusing the archives I see notes on setting IMAP servers to
disconnect (-done), issuing a command-line /EXIT (-done), and on
looking for a .IPC file (don't seem to have one anywhere.) None of
these things actually make TB! quit.

There are no tasks active in CC, and nothing unusual running in Task
Manager. But this sucker will not close at all. Ever. All I get is the
some tasks are now active warning.

Forcibly quitting TB! and restarting doesn't help, nor does rebooting
the box. Very irritating. Any suggestions appreciated.

If I restart TB all is fine until I try to download e-mail again.

The other three account download normally.

Does this expand all threads in a folder (which was the subject) or

Again I am using a laptop (no NumPad) but when I hit [shift] [+] some

will collapse.

I was hoping someone would have advice on expanding all threads using

My problem was caused by setting TB up in a different directory on one
machine but using the default directory on the second machine.

My attachments existed but were in the wrong directory so the
attachments in the mail had the name but were of size 0.

Microsoft Exchange Connectivity

2004-07-20 Thread Terry Frazier
I posted this question to the TBTech list a few days ago, but there
doesn't seem to be any activity there.

Has there been any discussion or user stories on the Microsoft
Exchange Connectivity feature of v2.0?

I have looked for some time for a group calendaring solution and
am considering putting an Exchange Server-type solution in place for
that reason, and moving to Outlook for calendaring and PalmOS synching. But
I do not want to move away from TB! as my mail client.

Can anyone point me to success stories on using TB! in concert with
Outlook/Exchange? TIA.

Cordially,

Possible silly question

2004-06-30 Thread Terry
or at least I think it might be.

I'd like for the Connection Centre to only appear when I want it to.
I've started to use IMAP on a couple of accounts. Since I am
continuously connected while on, the Connection Centre stays open. I
hide it, but when pop accounts are checked again, it stays open again
so I have to hide it again. I've searched high and low and even in the
middle for some preference I can set to keep the Connection Centre
hidden, but no luck. Any hints, pointers, advice, commiseration, etc.?

BTW, I know that I can solve the problem by disconnecting from the
IMAP account after synchronising, but that leads to poorer IMAP
performance, at least on my machine and with my server. Or maybe I'm
using IMAP all wrong.

Anyway, any nudge in the right direction would be gratefully accepted.
