Re: Memo Autoview (ctrl-shift-i)
Hello tb, But, also be aware of the following: http://www.ritlabs.com/bt/bug_view_advanced_page.php?bug_id=0001866 Ouch, well I hope to see some way to annotate or have useful memos per message soon. Until Ritlabs does something, I am using a work-around that is good enough for me. I am using a QT that I have called Memo. ,- [ Memo QT ] | %To=%To=Memo%- | %Subject=[Memo] %Osubj%- | %Clear%- | %Cursor `- So, when I want to annotate a message, what I do is reply to it a then just type MemoCtrl+Space to execute the QT, then write my memo, send it to the Outbox and manually move it to the appropriate folder. As I use threading by Reference in 99% of my folders, the Memo message will appear just below the message. Not perfect but good enough for me so far. BTW, if anyone wonders why I include Memo in the To field is so that the message will go nowhere in case I send it by mistake. -- Best regards, Miguel A. With this method I can write or assign as many memos as I may need to a single message (not just one) and the date and time of each one is automatically logged. Yeah that's pretty cool.. With a To: of Memo, it can't go anywhere, unless you are running Mercury and create a local user named Memo, or change the To: to a local user...hm -- Paul Using The Bat! v2.01.26 on Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 1 Current version is 2.01.3 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hello tb, So you Queue in Outbox or Save Draft ? I queue in Outbox. The only difference is that if you Save Draft, when you want to move the msg to another folder you will be asked to confirm that you want to move Parked messages as well. -- Best regards, Miguel A. Yep, I also like option #2. Maybe you can write a plugin for this ;-) -- drifthat [EMAIL PROTECTED] Current version is 2.01.3 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

That's what I've been hoping for, soon please. So I will have a valid reason to _force_ the users on the network I administer and on which I introduced TB!, to finally delete/save their mostly bloody huge attachments from an email and make a note/memo of it to conserve email message / storage space. Till now I can't _force_ them, cause of the mentioned reason. -- With kind regards, Peter Ouwehand E: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - - - Created the above using A program which insists to be : The Bat! All below with respect to the reported bug. Yet another comment, hope TB! programmers are listening in too: .TBI files seem to be indexing files, used for easy / fast access to .TBB files. My opinion (and probably numerous database admins): Thy shall _never_ _ever_ use an indexing file to store data, of any kind. Someone else (on here or elsewhere) once mentioned that flags / parked / deleted information is stored in .TBB _and_ .TBI files (probably to be recreated in case of) So, why store memos in .TBI files, how's that to be recreated in case of.., I wonder ? It should _not_ be there to start with. Memo Autoview (ctrl-shift-i)
Does anyone use this? I find something similar very useful in Becky. Unfortunately I registered and greatly prefer The Bat. In TB the Memo Autoview doesn't minimize with TB. It's fairly useless like that. I am forced to close it when I minimize TB. Then re-open it explicitly. It would be much less useless if any of the following were true. 0. It is not shown when TB is minimized. ..and any of the following.. 1. If when enabled it popped back up after being closed for messages with a memo 2. If it was a tab on the bottom of the message views, like there is a tab for rendered html and text and even attachments. (Heck, while were add it, add the option to (OPTIONALLY of course) always show a headers tab down there) 3. If the dialog (and others like it) could be popped/snapped into the interface somewhere. I prefer option #2, but #1 would be a decent compromise in the short term. Listing 0 is implied and universally preferred with any possible option. Does anyone care? I know we can talk about features or changes you want instead or which take priority, but here's mine. I think it would be great to add notes to messages, and think it would be even better (from one standpoint) to fix a feature TB already has. I would write a plugin for this sort of functionality if the TB API allowed it. Does it? Does TB expect to have a plugin arch. which would allow in-depth plugins as in Becky? -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] Current version is 2.01.3 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
