Is this something that's changed since version 2?

If I select "alternative forward" for an HTML message I get a
blank message with an attachment called "1.msg"

If I select "forward" the attachment is "message.html"

Roelof,

I did see that possibility to.
I am wondering why they block EML and not MSG attachements when they are basicly
the same file format
There must be something in the EML file format that is causing these people to
setup their mail server to strip these.

Or is it an other case of cerebral overload termination (COT)?

Ah. I'd been reading the thread, but it wasn't all hanging together
for me, since I avoid HTML in e-mail like the plague.

I have that luxury, since I use TB! only for private correspondence
and the mailing lists. :)

G> I hope this make sense

Yes, it does. I hope someone can tell you where to change it, if it
can be changed.

As you can tell, if you read very many of my posts, I'm still learning
and still have so much to learn. I hope it is not an annoyance to

I am so skittish of messing with TB!'s default here, however, that
before I made a change I did a C&P to SmartBat, so that I could

I have tried that meanwhile, and it shows as plain text with an attachment
of message.html (at least in Outlook).

IMHO this should be improved. If I forward an HTML message, the forward
message should open as HTML and the unaltered original message should be
part of any forward/redirect.

I just tried it both ways, with and with out the
Account/Properties/Templates/Forward (Forward messages as attachments
- Mime Standard).

What I got was, with it UNCHECKED, like you the 1.eml, which wasn't
what I was expecting. But when I CHECKED the box, I got a message with
my Forwarding Template in one tab and the other tab message.html.

I have no way of checking the actual message for sure, but I believe
the second method, as Roelof mentioned, with the box checked will show
the message in HTML to the person you are sending it to.

Will have to try some more testing and will let you know.

When I use alternative forward, I end up with an empty reply template

Well, forwarding messages with MS Outlook here at work places the
message, exactly as it was, in the message window & puts the forward
headers on top of it - and this is what I would expect when I forward
a (HTML) message. And redirecting should really put the HTML message

For one thing: quoted e-mail addresses (between <>'s, as used by

No. You can forward a message in two ways, with the original message in the
body of your message or with the original message as an attachment.
What is normal and what is alternative depends on whether you've
